I recently realized that there is a special way to hip carry on my Ergo and I was so excited! My LO loves hip carry and it's the only way I can carry him long term. However, it HURTS my shoulder. What am I doing wrong?

I could never get the Ergo hip carry to work properly, I prefer a ring sling for this. I can never hip carry for very long with a carrier but I hold DD this way a lot. FWIW when I do hip carry/hold her this way, my chiro has to do a lot of work to get my body back to normal and my massage therapist can tell that my right side (the side on which I carry) is more tense.
Hope you figure it out and make sure you get your back/hips/shoulders checked out every 4-6 weeks by your chiro if you end up carrying this way as it does a number on you!
Unless the straps are adjusted right, it won't be comfortable. For me it is right with one strap all the way loose and one all the way tight. Once you find your sweet spot its great!
