I've got Lent covered...

I am not catholic, and have never adhered to the no meat laws for lent, but I have used the time to try to give up something bad or start a healthy habit...
Today at lunch I went to subway and brought my scrumptious chicken sandwich back to work to eat and an older lady in the cafeteria asked me what I got. I told her it was chicken and I swear to you she looked like she had just been shot in the chest. "but you DO know it's Ash Wednesday right?" Oh but see I'm not catholic. "you're what? You don't give up meat for lent?"
I had to give her something positive. "dont worry, for Lent I'm giving up promiscuous sex, alcohol, and shaving my legs."
Oh I could have died with the look on her face. Maybe I should give up sarcasm to old old ladies....

We are catholic and I am not giving anything else up for Lent because I have given up many pleasures that are not safe for the baby! So take that lol....

I just graduated from a Catholic University even though I'm not Catholic (they had the degree I wanted). I wish I had a line like that to use when I was there. My friends knew I was not into promiscuous sex or alcohol, so they would have laughed right along side me when a priest or anyone stuck up on traditions like that asked. That is awesome!
