Chapped Itchy Lips Anyone?

I've been randomly getting chapped itchy lips, first during my 9th week and now during my 14th week. Any suggestions on the best relief? I know it's not an allergic reaction, and I probably didn't drink enough water today - but any other suggestions are welcome! So itchy!!!!!

Mine aren't super itchy, just chapped. I just use TONS of Burts Bee's chapstick

Mine aren't itchy so much but extremely dry, causing cracked nasty skin for days. I've had to keep lip gloss on my lips constantly to prevent it. I find that when I layer some on at night my lips are very soft and happy in the morning.

I thought it was just me. My lips are so chapped... They've been cracking and bleeding. I have tried all the usual things, and no matter how much water I drink nothing seems to help. Now I just rub them with the same lotion I use on my belly.

I had this earlier in the pregnancy and looked up a few remedies that worked;
1. Mary Kay lip balm this is what worked the best, found a Mary Kay lady in my area and you can either just get the balm or the two step kit that helps with removing the dead skin first
2. Warm towel on your lips and then apply Vaseline.

It's my understanding that many chapsticks contain some form of alcohol which can make it worse. So, check ingredients to make sure. I use Burt's Bees which works great.

My lips are chapped, but my boyfriends lips have been really itchy. Medicated lip balm (blistex) is the only thing that works for him. Lots of other lip balms have ingredients in it that dry out your lips, so you use more lip balm.

Thanks everyone! I've been using Blistex, but it actually seems to dry them out more. I think Burt's Bees is the way to go, such good stuff!

Yeah try Burts Bees. I only seem to get extreme chapped lips at work (very warm and dry atmosphere) but I use Burts to heal them overnight and they only seem to go back to normal on the weekend. I drink 60-80 oz of water a day and still get horrible chapped lips during the week.

I would say you need to drink more water and just cake a lot of chapstick on your lips. Mine gets really dry if I dont drink enough water.

Not sure about the itchy part, but out of the 6 different chapsticks I've tried Burts Bees Nourshing Mango is the only one that really seems to help. My bottom lip keeps cracking in the exact same spot every day except for when I use the Burts Bees!
