Hello all- This is my very first post. I hear it can be difficult to get into a good Doc so I'm hoping to get advice on who is recommended in my area. I live in south Austin and work in Westlake. Any info would be appreciated.
I adore Women Partner's in Health (https://www.wpih.net). It's a little further north than you are (on 34th street across from Seton Hospital) but I used to live off Spyglass and now live in North Austin and have never found it to be a long drive.
I see Dr. Kung. She's the newest doc in the group, so she should have availability. She's wonderful. I'm always at ease with her, she's so sweet and attentive, gives great information and I'm never afraid to ask her anything. Her nurse Rae is a great resource as well (has 5 kids) and is very prompt in calling back if I ever leave a message. I used to see Dr. Nash (my mom still sees her) and we love her too. The only reason I switched docs is because I moved away and when I moved back I was 6 months pregnant and she didn't have availability for me (though I think a new, non pregnant patient might be a different story).
Everyone I interact with there is extremely friendly and helpful. I find them to be very efficient: I never wait long to be seen, they do a lot of their blood work in house (though if they do send you out, the lab is next door), and they give you a phone number to call with a passcode to get your test results for everything (no "if we don't call you you're fine").
I would wholeheartedly
recommend Dr. Genoveva Prisacaru at Seven Hills Women?s Health.
She
is so intelligent and so well read and the best communicators of medical information
that I have ever seen, with a natural talent for breaking down any difficult
topics.
Each
interaction with her during my pregnancy was an opportunity to learn and take
away a treasure chest of unique insights. Behind her brilliant
mind is a very caring individual. Many people are intimidated by her because
she is so incredibly smart. I am grateful and fortunate to have been her
patient. Let aside, she saved my life twice. Once in ICU, when I was admitted
with severe pelvic sepsis, and second time when she operated on me for my fourth
caesarian section. I am a living legacy of her.
