BFP after Chemical Pregnancy success stories

Anyone have a BFP after a loss success story? DW and I just had cp after our third time trying. We were barely pregnant hcg was 8 at it's highest and the nurse said we can try as soon as AF shows. We are totally heartbroken and need some inspiration! I hear you can be more fertile after a loss too. Anyone else hear this too? TIA everyone.

Re: BFP after Chemical Pregnancy success stories

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. Sending hugs your way.

My partner lost twins over the summer-- it was not a chemical pregnancy, but maybe the story will be inspiring anyway, because we conceived the very next time we tried. :)  My partner is 18 weeks along now and all signs point to a healthy pregnancy. It's a singleton this time, but we're OK with that.

    Good luck!

  • I'm very sorry for your loss.

We had a m/c after IUI #4.  And then we got pregnant with twins on IUI #5.  So we are proof it can happen!  It was a roller coaster of emotions.  And even during my pregnancy with the boys there were many times that I was still grieving the pregnancy that I lost.  You can't help but do that.  And I think that is okay.

Just remember to take as much time as you need to grieve this cycle.  You don't necessarily need to jump right back in to the next cycle.  But I promise you will know when the time is right to try again.  Good Luck.  I'm sure good things are on the horizon for you.

  • IUI #2 was a c/p for me and IUI #3 was my BFP that is now a 2.5 year old toddler who is currently ransacking the fridge. :-)  Don't give up, your BFP could be just around the corner!

  • First off so sorry for your c/p.

I have a couple of friends who either had a miscarriage or a cp and got their take home baby their next cycle!  I have also heard you are more fertile following due to increased hormones (the ones needed to sustain a pregnancy) and a thicker uterine lining.  I am not sure how true that is but fingers crossed that your BFP is not far away!

Just remember to process your feelings as ttc can be a very hard and emotionally exhausting journey.

    Best of luck!

  • So sorry for your loss.  We had a CP with IUI#3.  IUI#6 led to our now 17 month old.  From what I learned, CPs are incredibly common.  Those in infertility treatment and people like us who know exactly when we may have conceived are likely the only ones who know we are pregnant at such an early date.  Many many people have CPs and don't even know it - they just think their period is a bit late.  Most people who experience one go on to be successful in the future.  Good luck!
