Well, I went for my scheduled c/s and I got kept getting bumped. Talk about a long morning. Finally they bring me in. I've been through this twice, so I knew what to expect, but I will say the nurses and all were wonderful.
My baby boy was born at 1:20 and he was perfect.
I was brought into recovery for what should have been 1.5 hours, but it turned into 4+. I started to hemerage (sp). I was making blood clots in my uterus, but wasn't passing them, so I kept bleeding and making more clots. They called my OB back and he got me straightened out by (TMI) reaching in and pulling out the clots.
Finally I was in my room around 7:00 and got settled in. I developed a horrible headache for the entire duration of my hospital stay, which I have determined was a sinus headache due to the fact that the air was so dry.
We are finally home and we're settling into a routine. (at least trying). He isn't sleeping great, but he is growing and the sleep thing will come in time.
GL to everyone else still left to go.
Re: Had baby -- story
Congratulations! And how scary!
Did you have an epidural? You should call your doctor to tell them about the headache. It could be related to the epi.
Definitely mention the possible spinal headache to your doctor.
I definintely thought the headache was related to the spinal that I had, but it was determined by where the pain was that it was not a spinal headache. Plus they gave me a sudafed adn that helped, but I didn't want to keep taking it because I'm BF-ing. Plus I started using a saline nasal spray to moisten my sinuses and that helepd too.
As soon as I got home, the headaches subsided, so I definitely think it was sinus related.
