Swaddle addict and halo sleep sack

Just bought the halo sleep sack. Did you have good results weaning LO out of the swaddle with this? At what age do you think they can go without any swaddle or sack? Like 6 months?? Benjamin just loves the swaddle! I'm afraid without it we won't be sleeping.

Re: Swaddle addict and halo sleep sack

  • I have the Halo swaddle sleep sack. Asa isn't rolling yet (besides tummy to back) so we are going to continue to swaddle, but I think I am going to try swaddling with just one arm out and then hopefully to both arms out but still use the swaddle around the middle (Until eventally we can just use the sleep sack with no swaddler). What is making you switch to just the sleep sack?

It's the 2 in one. I plan to use the swaddle. Maybe one arm out to try to help him transition. He breaks out of a regular swaddle because he's trying to suck on his hands at night.

  • We've switched to only swaddling at night and now to swaddling with one arm out, hoping to eventually just ditch the swaddle.

We bought a Halo sleep sack, I just didn't really like it. Summer swaddles work best for us and are easiest in our opinion.

  • LJ is a swaddle fiend! Always likes to be swaddled or else fights sleep really bad by biffing himself in the face.

We have used Summer swaddle sacks, Halo Sleep sack with swaddle and the swaddle strap.

The Summer sacks are great unless LO is particularly wiggly and then he can break free.

The Halo Sleep sack has a larger velcro enclosure so I've found that really useful. Also it has a double patch of velcro on the back that seems to help keep it in place. I like that it velcro's in because I can detach it and use it by itself, but also because it seems to help keep his swaddle tight.

Still, when a swaddle Houdini is on a mission he can get out of anything! Case in point, I did find LJ with one arm in and one arm out this am.

The swaddle strap was expensive ($34), but it is awesome if you want to swaddle in a swing or RNP.

I too do not know what I will do when it comes time to sleep without the swaddle. Hopefully since he takes naps without it, it will be ok.

Ah! I see. So we are going to be in the same boat then. Good luck!! I hope our LO's cooperate :)
