Mobile: Kids & colds - learned something new today
Just thought I would share - I never heard this before. Some of you may find this useful coming up with little ones! I took my DD to the pediatrician because her cold was lasting over 2 weeks, and it had been a sinus infection. So I was talking with the doc about trying to use the saline nose wash with her, she is 3, so a simple spray up the nose to help loosen things up sometimes helps. Since my DD has asthma, the doc gave me a great tip - she said when she is sick, I can put some saline in the nebulizer, and let her breathe that in for a few minutes - it is going to help with the sore throat, and get to the sinuses as well. I had never heard of that, and thought this was really helpful when they are super stuffy!

Great tip! I also have an asthmatic and viruses make the asthma flare, big time. Hope she gets to feeling better soon!!
ps one of my biggest hopes for this baby is that it never has to use a neb or has to wear off the effects of albuterol
That's a great tip! Never thought of that.
I've had sinus/asthma problems since I was 2 y/o. I had sinus surgery in high school because none of the antibiotics were working to clear up my sinusitis. We walked into williams sonoma one day at they had samples of mullings spices infused in apple cider. It started clearing me up! So I live by that stuff when I'm not feeling so hot. Love it.
