June 2012 Moms

I couldn't believe my in-laws didn't know!

So about a month ago we forgot to take home one of DS's bottles, and it had some formula left in it because he didn't finish it.  I left it in the fridge and forgot to get it before we left.  So I texted my FIL and Step MIL and asked them to take it home with them and we'll get it the next time we saw them.

The came over our house last night for dinner and brought the bottle with them.  When they took it out of the bag, IT STILL HAD THE FORMULA IN IT!!  Almost a month later!! hahaha I couldn't believe it!

I said something like "Oh my, it still has the milk in it!!" and my in laws said "Well we didn't know when it expired, and you only asked us to take it home with us."  That's when I told them it only has a 24 hour shelf life!!!

Really???  You couldn't tell it was curdling in your fridge and thickening up so much that it was sticking to the bottle??!!

It's not a big deal, but it makes me laugh that they have raised their own kids and my step MIL is 6 grandkids of her own that she helps raise and used to babysit!! Even if it were breastmilk that was being fed, it can't last a month in the fridge!

Oh my... I just had to share that!

  • When my MIL does something seemingly boneheaded like this it makes me wonder what happens to my son when he is in her care. There is LOTS my MIL didn't "know" about when my son came into the picture. Scares the CRAP out of me!!!
