So yes, we sold the condo! SOOOOO happy!
We had an offer in on a house in the fall, but weren't able to sell the condo, so that fell through. We then put an offer in on a different house a little before Christmas. The offer was conditional to us selling our condo by Feb. 8.
It was mid-January and DH and I had started talking about our options if the condo didn't sell when we finally got an offer. It was low, but in the end, we got what we wanted. Thebuyers did the inspection and all that jazz and we finalized all the paperwork on Feb 1st. It was about time, too, because there apparently were two potential buyers just waiting for Feb 8 to make their offer.
And now, here are some pictures of our new house ![]()
Front view. Driveway large enough to fit 4 cars, plus a garage. Woot!

Living room and dining room (this is pretty much what you can see right now if you peek in from the front window) - oh and yes, that IS an armor.
The kitchen hasn't been updated since the house was built (late 80's), so it'S kind of blah to look at, but everything is clean and in great working condition.
The family room is right above the garage (which I love vs being in the basement). DH wants us to turn it into the master bedroom when the kids are older. We'll se...
Bathroom - Seriously, that bathroom is about 4 times as big as our current bathroom. LOL There is another bathroom in the basement, plus a half bath on the main floor. I have never lived in a place that had more than just one bathroom. I feel so spoiled!
The bedrooms
There are 3 good-sized bedrooms on the 2nd floor. That should work for the next few years, and then when someone is tired of room sharing, we can either move the master bedroom where the current family room is or add a bedroom in the basement (I have no pictures of the basement, but there isn't much to see anyways - it's finished, but it's just all one big room - perfect for us to do whatever we want with it!)
Master bed
The girls room
The baby's room
Our backyard - I love that the current owners kept it simple - That's just the way I like it. The kids will have plenty of room to run and play, and I might even make a small garden patch at some point. I can definitely picture a swing set or even a trampoline there, too ![]()

I am SO happy we got this house (and not the one from last fall). I just think this is exactly what our family will need. It's within walking distance from a playground, a kiddie pool, and an elementary school... oh and also an ice cream place
It's pretty much the same distance from DC as we currently are now, so my commute won't really be affected. The yard is also larger than average for this area (7000 sq ft vs 5000).
So yeah, really just a good house for us ![]()
ETA: We had asked for a March move-in date, but that would have really left the current owners with only one month to find and buy a new place, so they asked we do mid-May instead. It's not ideal, but we'll make it work.
Re: Mrs Case - Mah House
I hope this was for everyone else too and not just mrs case! Sorry for butting in!
Do you really have to ask?
Thanks and no, we are keeping the armor. That thing really cracks me up. It just seems so out of place. I could see it if they had some sort of a medieval/knight theme going on, but they don't. It just looks so random.
ETA: NOT. We are NOT keeping the armor.
LOL I was also wondering this!
One of my fave parts of house hunting was seeing the odd things that people keep on display in their homes!
And yes, I said face. I refer to the front of a house as its face, lmao.
Yaaaaaay, new house!
// I love you too. //
