32 weeks hit me like a ton of bricks

I just need to vent (and perhaps get some sympathy :) I don't know what happened, but it's like someone flipped a switch. I had my issues with this pregnancy, normal stuff, but everything felt manageable. Then 32 weeks hit. I am more exhausted than ever. I get tired very easily. I have a hard time sleeping comfortably. My back hurts. My hands and feet are swollen and hurting. My hand is so swollen I can barely hold a pen to write. I got a yeast infection, and I think I have a hemorrhoid. I wake up in the mornings cranky. My husband says I've started snoring loudly. The baby has been moving more than ever, invading my lungs and ribs, stomping on my bladder. Sometimes her movements give me a sea sick feeling. I am SO SO SO happy she is healthy! But I suddenly feel like I'm ready for this baby to be born and to no longer be pregnant. It's incredible from one week to the next, how different I feel.

That's all.... just need to vent to others who would understand!

  • I hear ya. Last week I had three near-fainting incidents when I never ever had trouble before that. Oof.

I'm so happy I'm not the only one who feels this way!! I'm incredibly grateful our son is healthy, but I'm definitely not one of those people who 'loves being pregnant.' I used to think pregnancy was a magical thing, but its really just a means to an end. Hang in there, we only have 8 more weeks FX!

  • Yeah, it gets that way in the last stretch.  It can be frustrating.  If it makes any sense, the weeks are slow but the pregnancy flies by.  It will be over before you know it.

  • I couldn't agree more. I feel like I have been hit by a bus.

  • My exhaustion has been like this the ENTIRE pregnancy, but 32 weeks also hit me hard in terms of aches and pains.  I am dealing with some painful sciatica, and pretty intense pelvic pain when walking.  I hate it, because it makes me feel like I should just sit down all day, but then my feet and ankles swell to elephant-sized proportions.  Oh who am I kidding, they do that lately regardless of whether I'm sitting or standing.

Yes, I am ready to be done with this (but not quite ready to have a child to care for!  eeeek!)

  • I'll be 32 weeks on Sunday, and with the exception of the yeast infection (knock on wood) I could have written this entire post, word for word.  I feel your pain!!

  • I feel the same way!!! i dont know if i can make it to 40 weeks :( im so exhausted.
  • I'm right there with you but it started at 30 weeks when she flipped over.    I feel like the day she flipped my life changed.   I can't sit up, I can't sleep.  WHen I do sleep I don't want to wake up caue I'm so tired from having to pee every 10 minutes thoughtout the night and not getting comfy.   I feel unfortable ALL THE TIME, like my stomach could totally explode.     I'm ready for her to come, and I still have 8 weeks and a couple days now.

  • Yes. This has been me the last couple of weeks. I'm so irritable and cranky. I couldn't for the life of me find a comfortable position to sleep in last night that isn't on my back. Just one more bickering fight with the bf about stupid crap and I just want to buy a package of valentine's baked goods and go hide in bed all day alone.

  • I'm with you on all your symptoms, my husband has been sleeping with ear plugs bc of my snoring so loud, and he doesn't want to wake me!! I feel like I jinxed myself because throughout the whole pregnancy everyone asked how i felt and I kept saying "terrific"!! I had slight morning sickness in the begining but the last two weeks have been completely miserable for me. and I have the worst groin pain where it literally hurts to lift my leg to put my pants on in the morning.

We're almost there, that's all I keep telling mself, and I remind myself that I'm grateful the baby is healthy and I've basically had a normal pregnancy.

    Good Luck :-)

  • Ya I feel ya, I'm there too.  Try your hardest to enjoy it, as difficult as that may be. I'm trying to do start doing things for me - movies, baths, yoga - that I won't have time to do after baby for a while.

  • Thanks everyone for the sympathy/empathy! I guess we just gotta take it one day at a time and (especially for us FTM) enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts!

  • Only a little more time left.  Hang in there - we all feel like this some days.  But I get it - we totally need a pitty-party some days.  We're all happy to be here for ya!

I tried to continue yoga but I was so miserable.  I'm going to stick it out though because I prepaid & have 4 more classes left lol
