Re: Do you wipe?

  • Yes, and I would for a boy or a girl.

  • For the boys ? No.  I think if I had a daughter I would, but I don't know. I don't have one so I don't actually *know*

  • No. I've got a boy. He's still alive and has never had issues (rash, UTI).
  • I wipe 75-80% of the time for pee diapers.

  • I did, but the extra moisture from wet wipes was making DS rashy, so now if it's a pee only diaper I don't wipe. The rashiness has been much better since I stopped.

  • DD is 6 and I honestly don't remember. I'm guessing I did.

This time around, I'm planning to use cloth wipes (at least at home), so I'd probably at least dab him/her dry, but I'm not sure I'd use wet wipes.

  • If all I have around is disposable wipes, I don't.  (Less chemicals on LO) But if I have cloth wipes around I do most of the time time.  (I have a boy.)

  • I did not with disposables. I'm not sure with cloth. I suppose if her skin is dry, then the wipe would just be more irritating.

  • I have 2 boys and we wipe.  sometimes if we are out and about I do a spritz of the booty wash and wipe with a dry wipe. I think there have been less than 10 times both kids combined that I've changed them without wiping after a pee.  I may or maynot have forgotten wipes and was crossing fingers for no poop diapers. • I have a girl and I always do. I don't want the urine irritating her skin. But I use plain water on cloth wipes and pat dry after, so its guaranteed not to irritate it more. If I was using store bought wipes I might not. I really never thought much about it :)

  • I have a boy and rarely wipe for pee. If I've wetted a wipe for poop anyway, occasionally I'll give the rest of him a swipe while I'm at it.

  • Girl.  Yes, I wipe.

I would also wipe for a boy.

  • I didn't used to, but I found DD got more and more rashes. I started wiping with a wet wipe then dabbing dry with a dry wipe and it fixed the issue. I shouldn't be surprised, she has my super sensitive skin.

  • Girl and we wipe. We also let her air out and pat dry, so the extra wetness isn't an issue for her.

This. Honestly I can't believe that anyone would NOT wipe. Wtf. To me that's the same thing as leaving a sposie on for hours because there is no wetness against baby's skin - uh yeah, like dry pee makes it better.

If you were in a diaper and peed on yourself wouldnt you want to be wiped off first before someone put a new diaper on you?

  • If it was a problem, it would be a problem. And it's not.

But I always love being judged for telling the truth in these posts. Wink The reality is that his skin isn't wet from being in his diaper - he generally feels perfectly dry. I don't like to make work, and he doesn't like diaper changes to take longer than they have to.

  • I have two boys, and yes, I wipe them when they pee.

    Yes

As women, we wipe because otherwise we'd get pee all over our underwear. It's not like taking a piece of paper and wiping gets all traces of urine off our skin.
