Hi Everyone! I've been lurking for months and I've even typed out an intro several times, but two little somebodies keep interrupting me! Lately, I've been hanging out on the multiples board, but I was on IF and PAIF before all of that and I've so missed you girls!
The highlights of our history are: unexplained IF (suspected embryo quality issues) for three years, 3 TI cycles, a miscarriage, 5 IUI attempts, 2.5 IVFs all before we were blessed with our amazing twin boys in September. Pregnancy wasn't easy with constant m/s, previa, and IUGR, but I already find myself missing it! The boys are absolutely amazing and I am so crazy in love. However, it is definitely not without challenges! I've been so lucky to be able to stay at home, but being a SAHM has been a challenge for me and I find myself missing work and adult interaction. I still haven't left the house by myself with both babies! The biggest struggle has certainly been feeding. Due to their size and latch issues, BFing was so difficult and we are mostly FF with minimal BM at this point. We have been blessed with fabulous sleepers, so we were able to establish a great schedule from six weeks and our days tend to go pretty well.
So, that's the story! I'm so looking forward to catching up/ getting to know you all!
Re: An intro (FINALLY!!)
Congrats to you!
Sidenote: So you don't go insane, when you feel ready look into joining a playgroup of some sort. I started going to a new mom support group that was offered at the hospital I delivered at when my daughter was almost a month old and I met an amazing group of girls, a lot of which were SAHM's, and we have sinced branched off and made our own "group" per say. We get together all of the time for playdates and to do activities around the city with our LO's. We also get together for girl nights about once a month which usually involves going out for dinner and drinks and a few of us are going on a girls trip to Napa Valley in two weeks! I am so thankful I have them! I would totally recommend seeking out something like that.
Also look for free or cheap things to do around the community - library classes, park and rec stuff, I know the Children's Museum where we live has a ton of classes included when you buy a membership, we have a zoo membership that also has classes/camps for when the kids get a little older, a lot of local community centers have free or really cheap playgroup activities, our kids started swimming lessons at 6 months etc etc.
I am a person who would go crazy sitting at home all day doing nothing but changing diapers so I can totally understand how you might feel a little isolated. Not that you really wanted my advice (lol), but welcome to the board!
