Swelling!

UGH!  When will the swollen legs go down????  I'm 6 days PP.  Any tips or tricks for getting this extra fluid out?  I've been moving around and drinking water like crazy.

Re: Swelling!

  • Mine didn't start to ease up until 2 weeks PP. I looked like freaking Fred Flintstone. I just propped my feet up when I could, and drank as much water as possible. My OB said there really isn't much you can do for it, unfortunately.

  • I swore by Blessed Thistle.  The water started to release 2 days after I started taking it with my second c-section.  I like something like 25 pounds of water in a week.  It was disgusting.

The first time around it never released and I ened up with pulmonary edema.  Make sure you listen to your body.  If you are short of breathe, call your dr!

  • Sorry to say. Mine didn't start to go down until after 2 weeks. It took a while. I was 3 sizes bigger and thought my skin was going to rupture. I called the dr and as long as I wasn't seeing spots, it was normal. It is painful and not fun! Keep drinking water, it's supposed to help.
