I know all kids are created different, but I was wandering when do babies usually start making noise? My LO is 2 months old and doesn't make much noise at all unless she is crying about something. She moves her mouth alot and plays with her tongue alot but nothing comes out. Is there something I should be doing to help her? Is this pretty normal?
Re: Question about baby talk
That really depends on the child. I think DS 1 started around 5 or 6 weeks. His brother DS2 still hasn't said much and they are 11 weeks old. I do make the similar sounds back to them. I actually say "baba" for bottle and stuff like we did with DD. I don't expect them to pick it up anytime soon but its a way for me to talk to them.
Babycenter says:
He'll begin by using his tongue, lips, palate, and any emerging teeth to make sounds (cries at first, then "ooh's" and "ahh's" in the first month or two, and babbling shortly thereafter). Soon those sounds will become real words ? "mama" and "dada" may slip out and bring tears to your eyes as early as 6 months.

This. DS is 10 weeks and just last week really starting making not grunting/crying noises.
