I love Ten Things Tuesdays!!!

1. I am really looking forward to my job interview this evening.  It's for twin 14 month old boys.  Wish me luck!

2.  I really need to find a job soon, its hard to save for a baby with only one income.

3. I love that I have met some of the people off here and also communicating via email.  Its great to be able to talk to other people going through similar things.

4. I went to the Dr last week for some blood work and got the whooping cough vaccination, my arm hurt so bad all weekend.  My wife had to help me blow dry my hair and put on make up.  It sucked!

5.  All the blood work came back normal.  So even though I am over weight, I am healthy.  So that is good news

6. I am really struggling with managing my stress.  We have a roommate that was only supposed to be temporary and is turning into long term.  It is really getting to me.

7. My DW and I are considering looking into fostering children.  It would give me an opportunity to stay home and not have to work.  But we cannot do that until our roommate moves out.

8. I am ready for winter to be over.  The winter blues are def setting in.  I have no motivation for anything during the day.

9.I really have no idea what to do for my DW for Valentine's Day.  I have nothing planned or purchased....eeek

10. The good news is that we are doing OPK this week and hoping to inseminate Saturday and Monday (approx).

Re: TTT

  • 1. I really enjoy TTT also!

    2. I am ready for winter to be done. Actually, I don't mind the cold temps, I am just sick of not being able to see the sun and not being able to hike!

    3. I bought Wondfos for the first time and am excited to be able to track ovulation with another method. I used the first one earlier today and it was negative, but I know it won't be in a day or so!

    4. DW and I are really happy to be paying off some bills now that I am working full-time. The job is not permanent (unfortunately) and it is unpredictable, but it is something!

    5. SIL is pregnant (they both are, but only talking about one here) and she is 25 weeks along. STILL SMOKING. Makes me so angry to see "My baby's progress: he can breathe now" on facebook knowing that she is still injecting cancer into her baby...

    6. I am a little moody today, must be the weather

    7. DW has to work for V day, which sucks. She wants to go see "identity thief" today or tomorrow, it looks hilarious, but I want to see Safe Haven and it doesn't come out until Thursday

    8. Rachael Ray is obnoxious on her day time show---she never lets anyone else finish their sentences!

    9. DW wants to workout to Kempbo-x....not super excited because (1) I can't stand the Tony guy who runs it (I am more of a Jillian Michaels girl) and (2) I really don't want to work out for an hour

    10. Ugh.

  • 1. Yay for TTT

    2. I have really boosted my bump post count during my 9-day illness. I suppose that's one good thing? :) I hope I'm better before I get a to be a bronze poster or something. Oy.

    3. We are excited for our NT scan on Friday, getting to see baby again, and preparing for our facebook official 'outing' though a lot of people already know. We're hoping the ultrasound tech will be patient and snap us a good shot!

    4. Our wedding is on April 20th and I have lost two weekends of prep work to being sick. I'm not stressing out though, just trying to trust it'll all be good since we'll be married either way at the end of it!

    5. I can't believe how much my body has changed yet I've not gained weight. I feel so big-bellied! But I'm sure I ain't seen nuthin' yet.

    6. My wife-to-be said to me today "Everyday is Valentine's day with you honey" when I asked if she wanted to do anything special on Thursday. I love the heck out of that woman.

    7. My cat that sleeps on my stomach when I sleep on my back must know something is up, as he's been rearranging himself the last few nights. Either that, or it's gotten too hard/uncomfy to sleep on? Or 6th sense?

    8. Speaking of sleeping, I am a stomach or back sleeper. I'm not looking forward to this side-sleeping business.

    9. As much as I hate being sick, not working the last couple days has been kinda nice. Even though I do like my job.

    10. We should know our baby's gender by next week! That is crazy. I'm jumping ahead in my "Sacred Pregnancy" book to journal about being a mom to a boy and being a mom to a girl, since once I know I think my perspective might change.

    Lil'mamaz was born on Aug 21, 2014! She's PERFECT!

  • 1.  Hurray for TTT!

    2.  My birthday is tomorrow.  I'll be 31.  I sort of wish we were doing an insemination this cycle so I could make all my birthday wishes about getting KTFU.

    3.  All my birthday wishes are about babies anyway, I can't think of anything else I want.

    4.  H. already bought me an awesome present - it's a 4'x5' giant floor pillow and I LURVE it!  It sits on our spare bed at the moment for the ultimate in luxury lounging.

    5. I have decided today that I want a kitten.  It's a terrible idea I'm sure - considering we already have a cat that wants more attention and a relatively high-needs dog.

    6.  I wish I had more flex hours at work so I could go home and have a bath + nap.

    7.  I am so happy for MollyKelley for their partner IVF plan, and I'm totally curious about the process.

    8.  H. and I don't really do V-day, so I don't feel like I need to be buying her stuff for it, but we ARE going on a concert-date to see one of our fav. singer-songwriters on Friday.

    9.  I love our SodaStream!

    10.   I really think those of you with kids and/or bumps should post more pics so that I can swoon over the cute!

  • 1.  I'm so happy there are so many people on the board these days to keep these weekly posts going.

    2. This working from home stuff is definitely taking a little getting used to.  I feel out of the loop and I feel like everyone in the office is frustrated with me.

    3. The good news (and it's almost unbelievable to me) is that my boss actually seems to be making an effort now to include me on communications.  I think he realized last week how hard it can be to NOT have me involved.  I wonder how bad it's going to be when I'm actually out on Maternity Leave?

    4. I'm excited, I have brunch plans for Saturday!  For stupid reasons, I've always wanted to go get breakfast/brunch at The Machine Shed while pregnant.  But I hadn't gotten there yet.  The stars aligned for this weekend and S and one of my best friends is going too.  Yay!

    5. My belly is SO HARD and tight all the time.  It's almost like it's in a constant contraction.  It doesn't bother me at all, it's just weird.

    6. We went to a childbirth ed class last night put on by a local non-profit that I used to be a member of (back in my Doula days).  They did a really great job, and the presenter did a demonstration of what labor can look like in each stage.  There was a woman in the class who started laughing and just could NOT control herself.  She had to leave the room.  All I could think was ... you're in for a RUDE awakining, lady!

    7. Cletus the Fetus is having an absolute dance party in there today!  I have a slightly irrational fear that he's going to manage to turn himself back OUT of head down position.

    8. I can't believe I managed so well through those months where I only had 1 prenatal visit every 4 weeks.  Right now I'm at weeky visits and I still feel like it is forever in between them!  It's like I'm right back to the first 12 weeks in terms of worry and stress.

    9. I have a MOUND of dishes to do before S gets home.  Do them now?  Or wait for another hour?  Hmmmm.

    10. Back to work!

  • I LOVE TTT

    1. Today has been pretty busy for me! I have been going to the gym in the mornings, I went and volunteered after that and then worked on some business stuff after that...

    2. C came home early today which is always nice.

    3. I got the official word from my sister that I will be watching my niece starting in march and I am so EXCITED!

    4. C and I are going to take a zumba class tonight...I am excited and nervous (the last time I took a Zumba class it was SO hard!)

    5.  During our TWW I wasn't allowing myself to have any artificial sweeteners and now that we are at the beginning of another cycle I am pumped to get water flavor packets!

    6. C and I went to see Identity Theft yesterday and it was really good...it was not what I thought it would be but I really enjoyed it!

    7. I gave up Diet Coke for the month of January...and now that it is back I am afraid/glad that my love affair/addiction is not as strong as it used to be.

    8. C & I have decided for Valentines day we are going to save the present money and go on a trip in march...I am so excited!

    9. I recently started eating more yogurt and although I was not much of a fan before, I really love it now...maybe this is a healthier new me!

  • 1. Honestly the first thing I can think about is how stressful my job is today. I hate having difficult conversations with people that I really like. At this point, even Calgon couldn't "take me away".

    2. related to 1., I just want to go home, snug my 3 dogs and S and go to bed early!

    3. I, too, am super excited for Molleykelly and their IVF plan. We actually discussed this with our doctor as well since S definitely doesn't want to carry and is a little older than me. I think it's a great option. I'm so rooting for them - and everyone else on the TTC wagon right now!

    4.  I'm feeling better morning sickness wise, which is making me a bit nervous, but I choose to believe that everything is going great.

    5. Usually I don't care for Girl Scout cookies, but I've had 6 trefoils today. Thanks to a lady with a little girl at my work!

    6. I'm super bloated despite the intense amount of water I'm drinking. I think I may have to break down and buy some maternity pants soon to accommodate. 'sniff'

    7.  Got a call from our bank telling us our sold out donor finally has some vials available. We basically have to decide now how many more vials we want since they told me he is not donating as much anymore. For some reason, that's scary to me.We currently have 4 in storage.

    8. Thinking about my stressful job again. ah!

    9. S and I had wills and all kinds of legal paperwork drawn up a few months ago to take care of any legal issues that might come up between the birth and the adoption. We really need to sit down, review them all and get them back to the lawyer!

    10. I really need to start a pregnancy journal. I'm thinking of the one recommended on here, Embrace, but I'm still not sure exactly what I'm looking for. Guess I should get on that!

  • I love TTT!

    1. I've been having some really intense nightmares lately-- and, may I remind you, I am not the one who is physically pregnant! I've been running a slight fever, so maybe that's it. Anyway, I dreamed of a post-apocalyptic future were our baby had fleas and all the water was dirty.

    2. Thrifting over the weekend was a success! We found an adorable brown velour romper by Zutano (probably my favorite kids' clothing brand-- I don't usually care about stuff like that, but this stuff is adorable) and lots of board books in good shape. We're total book nerds, so I'm sure we'll have a good portion of his or her bookshelves full before s/he crowns!

    3. I decided that, for the safety of all involved, I have to stop reading the baby names board on the bump. I'm trying to minimize judgment and negativity in my life, and that place is, like, feeds on human misery.

    4. I dyed some onesies using procion dye (which actually bonds with the fabric, so it doesn't end up coming off on baby's delicate skin) and they turned out really well. Once I have my rainbow complete I'll post a pic.

    5. We are two weeks away from the anatomy scan! I'm excited to find out the sex of our little one.

    6. It's Taco Tuesday at our house.

    7. Valentine's Day has never been a big thing between my partner and me, because she buys me chocolate whenever I want it and is far too concerned with comfort to enjoy sexy underwear on either of us.

    8. If she's the pregnant one, why am I the one with a chin full of pimples? Not cool.

    9. I am obsessed with baby leg warmers.

    10. I'm afraid that once I start staying home with the baby I will never be able to make myself wear real pants again. :)

  • I hope the interview went well trisholio.  I'm sure you did a great job.

2mamazinSeattle - I had a hard time sleeping on my stomach while I was pregnant too.  I was thrilled once the boys were born to be able to sleep on my belly again.  I feel your pain!

    Manada - Happy Birthday!

jenheartsmonsters - I love to go thrifting.  We have found so many amazing deals for the boys.  We went this past weekend and we found a bunch of TingaTinga bodysuits for $2!!  They retail for $18 a piece.  Needless to say we stocked up in all sizes.

So I have never participated in TTT.  Here goes nothing ...

    1. The boys are 9 months old today!

    2. We are getting ready to close on our first home purchase on Feb. 28th and for some reason I am not nervous at all.  I really feel like I should be in panic mode.  I'm afraid it is all going to hit me on closing date.

    3. I really need to learn how to cook.

    4. I am celebrating the fact that I am still EPing for the boys!  There was a period of time, about a month, that they boys were getting between 2oz - 5oz of breast milk a day.  And now we are back to them exclusively getting breast milk.  We have only had to buy 3 cans of formula since they were born.

    5. RE # 4.  I'm tired of pumping.

    6. I got to meet trisholio this past weekend.  It is great to meet new friends.

    7. I worry that I compare the boys to one another too often.  I'm a twin and I always hated being compared to my twin brother.  And now I feel like I do it to the boys.  I need to change that.

    8. I could really go for some ice cream.  Cookies-N-Cream please ...

    9. I was disappointed in the season premiere of Walking Dead.  DW and I put the boys to bed and even popped popcorn for the occasion.  We were both disappointed.  I miss Daryl.  He better come back into future episodes.

    10. Confession.  We don't celebrate Valentine's Day in our house.  We both hate the holiday.

  • 1. Manada's birthday is tomorrow! I want it to be right now so I can give her presents.

    2. I'm making breakfast tomorrow for M and I'm excited.

    3. A week from tomorrow is our anniversary and I got us tickets to see the Indigo Girls that evening. M knows we're doing something but she doesn't know what yet. I"m going to give them to her in a couple minutes, so hopefully she doesn't read this before then....

     4. I really hate my period. I'm sure once we start trying to knock me up it I will hate it even more because its arrival will mean a BFN in addition to my current reasons-- really bad cramps and super heavy flow for the first 24 hours.

    5. I'm a bit stressed about this weekend when we had to Chicago for M's family to meet my family.

    6. I started watching Lipstick Jungle because Netflix recommended it to me. I'm actually really enjoying it so far. It's not my usual type of show (I tend to go for crime or medical dramas.)

    7. I started running last week but then we go over a foot of snow on Friday and now it's all slushy, icy and makes me nervous to run. :(

    8. MK-- GO IVF GO!

    9.  Trisholio--GOOD LUCK!

    10. Jenheartsmonsters-- Good riddance to the baby names board!

    ****loss discussed*****

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014

2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
    BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255

***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

  • It was great to meet you too!

I think the interview went well.  The parents were very laid back and nice.  Both boys have colds and were pretty fussy and whiny.   I would really like this job, but if it doesn't work out then we have a plan B in place

Give the boys a happy birthday kiss from us!!

  • 1. M just reminded me its my birthday tomorrow. Two weeks home with two newborns and I totally forgot.

    2. Manada and I have the same birthday!

    3. The boys are doing well minus the thrush.

    4. They have surpassed their birth weights so we can let them sleep up to 4 hours at a time!!!!

    5. M called my parents and they are watching the boys tomorrow so she can get me out of the house.

    6. I have mixed feelings about number 5. I am excited to get out but I am so apprehensive to be away from the boys. I have cried once already about leaving them. Sad I know. It will be the first time away from them since conception.

    7. I only have 5 more pounds to loose to be back to my pre pregnancy weight. Too bad I think I will be left with the ever dreaded twin skin.

    8. Sorry I don't have anything other than the boys to report on.

    9. M has been home with me and has a couple more weeks at home with me. It has been a life saver and sanity saver. We are an amazing team.

    10. It's time for bottles, meds and bath.
