I spoke to my OB about this yesterday, and he told me to speak with the practices midwife about dosage. I am wondering if anyone has used it for ripening and if you think it helped. I am getting induced if I do not go by 40 weeks (personal decision), but not if I need cervadil. I wanted to give this a try.
Thanks and congrats!
Re: Did anyone have success with EPO?
I used it as a vaginal suppository twice a
day for about 4 days before I went into labor. Granted this is a 2nd
pregnancy for me & I was already 3-4cm dilated & 80% effaced when I started using it. The morning
I went into labor I was 5cm 100% & had my membranes stripped. Labor started 2hrs later & she was born 4hrs later. I would not encourage you to start
using it until 38wks though. 36-37wks is still early

I started using it at 36 weeks, orally. Started vaginally at 38 weeks. I was 1cm at 39, 40, and 41 weeks.
Didn't help much, ha.
I don't know if it was the EPO, the acupuncture, the long walks, pumping for nipple stimulation or just God's perfect timing but I went into labor at 39 weeks, hours before I was scheduled to be induced.
I say, go for it. It can't hurt if you take a reasonable dose!
