Confused Neuro development v. behavior

I just scheduled DD's appointment with the developmental pediatrician and it will be at another hospital across from the one she is normally at. The lady on the phone said something to the effect of "it is called the behavioral clinic but we know your daughter was referred for her developmental issues" when explaining directions.

She is being referred also for the failing of the M-CHAT and other things the regular pediatrician saw as well as development. When kids are treated for autism or SPD do they go to a behavior clinic or is this something possibly completely different? I have tried to google it and the doc with no luck so far. Sorry, but I am very confused.

I was told follow up appointments would be at the regular childrens hospital where she practices.

Re: Confused Neuro development v. behavior

  • Thank you auntie.

The nurse sounded like she was trying to reassure me with the verbage and I have read that some people/places do that in order to have the parents not freak out intially so between the two I was a bit confused. I just want to make sure we are getting what we need, but I did bio the doctor and her specializations seem to fit.

The clinic is, however, at our metro "serve all" hospital downtown and she will have to come and get us to take us back to the clinic area - so it could just be that as well.
