Does anyone else have pretty bad "ovulation" pains?
I have had them ever since I went off birth control and started TTC...and they have come back after pregnancy. And they are pretty bad...bad enough that I usually have to take some ibuprofen and if they happen at night they will wake me or keep me awake. Some months are worse than others, but at times it has been , worse than my period cramping.
The crazy thing is that I don't remember having them when I was younger. I didn't get on the pill until I was about 23. So from the time I started my period at age 11 until 23, I never once remember having them. It makes me wonder if they are somehow related to my DOR. My DH says I probably just wasn't paying attention before and now I am more "in tune" with my body, but these are bad enough that I think I would have noticed them because I definately remember being young and having severe menstrual cramps.

Re: O Pains
YES! I have terrible O pains every month that started after I went off of the pill. I was on the pill from ages 17-25 and never remember them before I started bc, but that doesn't mean I didn't have it then. I probably just never knew what it was or cared.
Mine are so bad I literally tuck a heating pad into my pants and sleep with it on all night. I am pretty certain mine are that bad due to my endo. I do remember having horrible menstrual cramps as a teenage and even when I was on the pill (also I'm sure b/c of the endo). That has never changed. It's the same kind of pain every month.
Have you ever had a lap or anything? You might have some mild endo. I have been full of it every time I've had a lap.
I have not been checked post-pregnancy so at least theoretically I could have some scarring from the c-section. However, I had an HSG and hysterscopy when going through IF and everything was clear and I was having the O pains then, too.

In the past my HSG's and stuff have all been clear too ....
Not trying to give you one more thing to worry about, just thought I'd mention it.

What I have been told over the years is the only way to diagnose endo and its extent is by laparoscopic surgery. Endo moves outside of the uterus into the pelvis and even onto adjacent organs.
A Hysteroscopy shows the doc the inside of the uterus and looks for scarring, fibroids, polyps, etc.
Does that make sense?
"Hysteroscopy only examines the inner cavity of the womb. It does not examine the ovaries and the Fallopian tubes nor the muscle and outside surface of the womb. As a result, hysteroscopy will not diagnose problems with the ovaries or tubes, endometriosis or some types of fibroids."
Quick did a Google search ... found the above.
Yup, makes sense. What symptoms did you have that made them think you had endo? Pain and cramping around O and your period? Or was there more?
Also, do you think if I had some endo that they would have seen it when they opened me up for my c-section?

Along with the O pain and super painful periods I also find that I have a dull ache feeling. Like right now I am positive I have some crap going on on my left side. The ache is in my left ovary area and it radiates through my back.
The crazy thing about endo is I've heard of some women who have never had any symptoms, some have a few symptoms (like the painful periods/painful sex, etc) and others have crazy pain like me. Maybe bring it up to your doc and see what he/she says about it. My mom and grandma both suffered from endo really bad and both had hysterectomies because of it so when I started sharing symptoms with my mom she told me to get in to see the doc right away.
I went to respond yesterday but the bump ate my post and I think I actually got back to work after that.
I have horrible O pain. As bad as menstrual pain. The week I O I have severe, severe pain on either side, backache, etc. I even get PMS like symptoms. It's kind of bizarre. I also have endo. It makes me wonder if they are related. Maybe I have endo on my ovaries and that is causing the pain when I ovulate as well?!
I've also been told the only way to diagnose endo is through a lap. My OB suspected it because I had crazy bad periods since I was a teen, sex was tremendously painful and my cramps were intolerable.
