Fenugreek

Breastfeeding is not going so great for me (LO is two weeks old.) I don't have a very good supply. I'm going to talk to my LC about Fenugreek. Anyone have luck with it?

    Never took it. Glad your going to talk to an LC about it though. BFing board moms might be able to chime in b/c I've seen threads about it before. At 2 weeks BF is still a learning process and you will just have to hold tight for the first couple months and it gets better between weeks 6-8. GL!

    Be sure you drink PLENTY of water. I notice when I pump I EP that I get 12 oz per side if I've not had much to drink. If I'm well hydrated I get more like 34 oz per side!!

    I'm taking it to relactate, as well as Reglan.

    I started two weeks ago with no supply (a few drops) and I pumped 14 ounces yesterday. :) I take 4 fenugreek 3 times a day. I think it works!!

    Fenugreek helped me but also gave my baby crazy gas so I had to come off. I am now taking Goats Rue and its SO MUCH Better than fenugreek plus no fussy baby. I love goats rue. Granted, I still get very little compared to others but with GR its much better for me.

    Never tried the Fenugreek but see on her that you gave to take a like six pills a day. That was something I couldn't handle but I needed to increase my supply, I found a recipe on Pinterest for Major Milk Making Lactation cookies. I don't know if anyone else has tried them but I eat three or four cookies a day and it has doubled what I pump when at work. If you don't like taking pills those might be an option for you

    Hi Igleyze! While I have not personally taken Fenugreek I have had several friends that have had success while using it. I suggest taking an all natural postnatal supplement that is designed to increase lactation. Whatever you do, don't become frustrated with yourself.. you can do it
