LOs 1 nap schedule is currently:
5:15-6am - wake up
11:30am-12pm - 12:30-2:30pm - nap
6:30-7pm - bedtime
We've been struggling w/ the early wake up (in the 5s), which started when the 1 nap was still happening early in the day and LO had a really early bedtime (5:30-6pm). I've since been trying to push back the 1 nap and bedtime and am still getting the early wake up, and really inconsistent nap lengths.
I'm wondering if a) I'm keeping my LO up too long in the AM before the nap (however pushing it back will result in the same early bedtime cycle) or b) he's not getting enough sleep, b/c gradually over the past few months he seems to have dropped from about 13.5 hours total to 12.5 hours total average.

Re: Post Your LOs 1 Nap Schedule
DS's schedule is this:
8-8:30am: wake up
9:30am: breakfast
12:30pm- 3pm: nap
3:30pm lunch
6:30pm dinner
8pm: bedtime
.sometimes the wake up times vary a little but everything else is generally the same. He's been on this same schedule since 10 months. DD is also on this schedule.
12 to 14 hours is the optimum sleep for this age so it's possible he is sleeping enough and is just a kid who wakes up early. It happens. Most people I know with children said that they woke up between 530 and 630 everyday at this age. Lo's schedule of sleep is
Wake up between 630 (very rarely before 7 when I have to wake her up to take E to school) and 830. If she's up at 630/7 she takes a nap from 830 until 930 or 10 with a second nap between 1230 and 1 until 230 or 3.
If she is up anytime after 730 then she naps from 930 or 10 until 11 or 1130 with her second nap being from 3 to 430.
She goes to bed anywhere between 6:45 and 8:30 depending on how active we were that day. I am really go with the flow with both kids sleep schedules and it works. You just have to tell what the sweet spot is between too early for a nap and overtired.
Wake up 8am-9am
nap 12ish- 4ish
bedtime around 10pm
Even without a nap V is a bare to put down at night. She hate bedtime. She loves nap time though and even asks for nigh nigh when eating lunch.
Wake- between 8:30 and 9
nap- 11 to 2
bedtime- 9
Eta: DS can't go for more than 3 hours, tops, in the morning before he needs a nap. Otherwise he's a mess. We also can't get him to bed earlier than 9. If we try he is a mess. If we wait till 9 he rolls right over and goes to sleep without a fuss.
1:00ish 1 hour nap
8:30 bedtime
His afternoon nap is always an hour long, but the time he goes down can vary depending on his mood, our schedule for the day and any teething or illnesses. The earliest he'll go down is noon some days and the latest is around 3 on others.
6:45-7:30am - wake up
Somewhere between 11 and 12 she goes down for her nap, sleeps for anywhere from 1-3 hours
7pm - bedtime
Are you following your LO's tired cues? That does seem quite long to be awake in the morning. . .

Wake up 5:30-6:30
nap 12:30-3
bedtime 6:30
Wakes up around 8am.
He's down for a nap around 12:30-1 pm and he sleeps until about 3. On average, at least 2 hours but 3 hours isn't that uncommon.
Bedtime is anyway between 7:30-8:30 pm.
7:00 Wake Up
11:00-12:30 Nap
4:30-5:30 Nap
8:30-9:00 Bedtime
We had almost dropped the second nap and then they switched her classroom at daycare. She now sleeps on a mat instead of in a pack n play and doesn't sleep nearly as long. She really needs her naps. She is a cranky bear without them.
6:45-7am wakeup
12:30-2:30 nap
8pm bedtime
She naps anywhere between 11:30 - 12: 30 but average 11:45. She wakes up around 7 am.
Perhaps he's going to bed too early. I wouldn't change his nap but rather his bed time. When DD goes to sleep around 8, she wakes up at 6 am but when she falls asleep at 9 pm, she wakes at 7, which is the best all around.
However, go with his cues.

On the days that I'm home with her, she wakes up anytime from 7-8.
naptime- after lunch around 1 and sleeps 2 hours or so.

Rubs her eyes and acts tired....nap time, it's no set time.
She can have 1 to 3 naps a day depending on her mood or if she is sick.

We have a very similar schedule. I wake DD up at 6;30 on work days and on days off she sleep until 7-7:30. She naps around noon for 1.5-2 hours and then goes to bed between 7 and 7:30.
At daycare she still naps twice a day most days, but each nap is only about 45 min.
Will your LO hang out in the crib when they wake up? Sometimes DD will wake up from a nap or int he morning and start playing. I always give her 20 min or so to see if she will go back to sleep. Half the time she does.
We just transitioned to one nap days.
7:00 wake up
11:00 lunch
anywhere between 11:3012 to 2+ nap
7:00 bed time (give or take 15 minutes)
