Night time Leakage...help!

So DS just started turning over (a little late I know, but he was just so stubborn about it).

He will do it now, but mostly when he is sleeping. We put him on his back and sometimes he will rollover early and sleep on his stomach, other times he will not rollover until he wakes up.

We had a leakage problem so we went up to the next size diaper at night (we use Luvs), but it only seems to work some of the time.

Any pointers to help keep him from leaking on a more consistent basis?

TIA!

Re: Night time Leakage...help!

  • We usually have to do a night time diaper up a size. Also, if you have a tummy sleeper, which I do, it helps to pull the diaper up a bit higher in the front for the night.

  • We use Pampers and DS's diapers are usually soaked in the morning, but we've never had a leak.

Definitely this, especially for a boy, since they soak the front of their diapers. In addition to this, I also use a cloth diaper cover over the disposable. It is leakproof and works great. We use the Thirsties duo wrap diaper cover. If you do this, you have to make sure all of the disposable is tucked in under the cover or it won't work.

  • Use cloth at night. We have bum genius 4.0 with a soaker - works great.

This is what I do. DS is in a #3 huggies during the day, and at nighttime I move him to a #4 overnight. It holds up most nights, but there are some nights that we still have leaks. Just part of the package I guess...heheheh.
