I've been bitten!

By the baby bug that is! Just a few weeks ago, I was on here crying about how I don't get any sleep and I don't know how I would ever be ready for #2, and how hard things were at home. And suddenly, the past few weeks E has started sleeping measurable amounts, we've been able to get things done around the house without arguing, and I haven't cried in the shower in weeks. Then this weekend, I held my friend's newborn. And I swear, I don't remember E ever being that tiny! And I missed it so much. Suddenly I'm aching for another baby. But on the other hand, I love E and our life together so much, and I am so worried about missing out on her milestones. How do you make sure #1 doesn't get short-changed when #2 is coming? Is it crazy that I've made this 180 so quickly? Do I just have baby fever from holding one? How did you know you were ready?

The turning point is definately when you start to sleep better I was ready about the point that you are at & we started trying again, we did our IVF cycle when the LO's were just over 10 months old. It doesn't help that 5 different family members were pregnant & had babies this past couple of months I do feel like my LO's were cheated of individual time but it is also wonderful that they have each other I think if the baby bug doesn't wear off in a while you know you are ready

I think it is great that you are feeling so much better about things!

My LO has been STN since 3 months and while I sometimes get that feeling, the thought of my horrible pregnancy quickly puts it out of my mind. I do want number 2, but I definately want to wait. However, I am just scared of waiting since I have DOR and it gets worse with age and come sometimes get worse quickly.

I think having gone through the horrible sleep issues for 5 months, combined with the severe PPD and panic attacks I was having at the same time, is keeping the amnesia from setting in for me.

While I do look at DD a lot and think how fast time has flown by and in some ways miss when she was a tiny little baby, I just keep reminding myself that we always planned to be "one and done" andjust how hard things were early on, to talk myself down. DH and I are still working on re-establishing our relationship with each other as a married couple (as opposed to as parents), so another baby is definintely NOT a good idea right now!

Girl - I've wanted another once since my DS started sleeping through the night too. And having three under three doesn't scare me in the least

Now THAT'S crazy! Start trying on your own - see what happens for awhile. Glad things have gotten better for you.

I'm so susceptible to Baby Fever! I love holding babies! But the truth is I know I would be miserable with 2u2, so I try to wait until the older baby is 12 or 18 mo.

I started ttc#2 when DS1 was 12 mo and it took me another 18mo of trying before I had success, so in the end I got the 3yr spacing I wanted.

TTC#3 I stated on my own with my PP AF at 7 months, but didn't resume treatments until DS2 was 18 mo.

I am currently in the middle of an IVF cycle ttc #2. Honestly, there are still somedays that I don't think I am ready for another and DS is 15 months old now. But my DX has pushed things a little faster for me. I started AF again at around 8 weeks PP and even though I was not mentally ready for another baby, we tried on our own anyway (We were really hoping for a freebie!!) LOL! When that didn't happen we went back to the RE when LO was a year old. Like a pp mentioned, you can always try on your own for a bit and maybe you'll get lucky! And I truly believe that things work out so that LO#1 doesn't feel short-changed. I think of it as giving your child a playmate!

I have the fever mildly. We are planning our FET for 2 in April 2014, so that is plenty enough to be excited that we have a date for our next try. The bigger feeling that is creeping in for me is, in true IF style, the "what if this doesn't work, then what?" fear. We only have 2 frozen embies, so our discussion at that point would be do we go through another IVF cycle. While my IVF cycle was successful, it was anything but easy. I think we would do another one, but the idea of going down that road again makes me have a knot in my stomach.

I don't know why I'm even thinking about this. I'm still BFing with no sign of my cycle returning any time soon. I haven't even had a cycle on my own in over 4 years that I've been keeping track. It's fun to dream though right?
And like PP, I also have that whole fear of what if I'm not ready for another year, but then it takes another 3 years to conceive again and my LOs end up 5 years apart. Not that there is anything wrong with that space, I just woul ideally prefer them closer. Oh IF, you make us so crazy!

You read my mind! BF had a lot to do with our timing for TTC #2. I knew I wanted to BF for at least a year, and I also knew that it might take a few years to get pregnant again. If it was up t DS I would have weaned much earlier and started to TTC again sooner. If it was up to me, I would have BF until closer to 18 months. We met in the middle. I weaned right after DS turned one and we started to TTC again right after that. In the end it only took us 7 months to get pregnant again (compared to almost three years the first time). Don't forget that you dn't have to go through the year of TTC on your own or all the treatments that didn't work the first time. Being able to start with what you know worked last time was a big help. GL!

I remember having baby fever right after DS. Then after 6 months I was so not ready. Didnt start trying again until both DH and I were ready. For us we just knew it was the right time. I hope you have that moment too.
