So, what are the plans for the loooove night?
Are you cooking or going out? If you're cooking, what are you making? I need inspiration (that can be done fairly quickly, since we're working that day).
Are you getting DH any gifts? LO?
Any fun activities/plans?
Cotton - I'm looking at you here! I want to hear the plan ![]()
Re: Valentine's Day <3
Nothing special here. It is really the only night this week we have nothing going on. We'll have leftovers and hang out as a family. I got DH a pack of new boxer briefs and a funny couples calendar.
I put the Kohls flyer and a 30% off coupon under his pillow last night. I even circles things I would like. Mini 3 cup food processer or 3 pairs of black knee length socks, gold toe.
He said thats not very romantic! My reply to him, Yeah, but its what I need & want!
I plan on making fajitas for dinner.
For him I got a sexy little something for me to wear that night.
I'll probably make the boys heart pancakes in the morning.
We are cooking, but as I said, I don't know what yet. If I get my butt out of bed on time, I'll make the little cinnamon roll hearts for breakfast treats. And maybe a heart cake.
I think I'm going to make DH a cheesy book filled with things I love about him. We need to stop and get J a book, like we do for every holiday.
I always want holidays to have a little extra fun with J, so we'll let him do something silly like paint in the tub, or play with playdoh.
We don't do big Valentine's Days, but use it as an excuse to slurge on a meal at home. I think we will celebrate on Saturday. We have weekly dinners with friends on Thursdays.
This year, I think we'll do nice steaks and carrot cake for dessert (our wedding cake and both of our favorite). I'm thinking of making twice baked potatoes for a side. And probably asparagus or artichokes for the vegetable. We'll also have wine and champagne.
Besides steak, fondue, sushi, and lobster are kind of our go to's for nice meals at home.
We aren't doing much here -- I'm going to make a homemade card for DH and if I have enough ambition, get up early Valentine's morning and make either pink french toast or heart shaped pancakes. Mornings are really rushed in our house, so there's probably a 20% chance of this happening.
I was menu planning for the week and asked DH if he wanted anything special cooked for Valentine's night -- and he told me he would take care of supper. Yay! I told him to seriously not get me anything or send flowers to work because I'd much rather him do something out of the blue than on V-day.
Haven't decided if we'll get anything for DS yet.... maybe a book about puppies since he's nuts about puppies right now.
I got DH a Home Depot gc and some sour patch kids.
I got C a book and a small box of candy (about 6pcs).
Nothing super exciting? LOL! Ho hum, *yawn*, I only got boudoir photos done, no big deal *yawn*.
I'd say that's totally exciting!
I am so excited for Valentine's Day this year, since last year I dropped the ball big time!
I am decorating the kitchen with tons of balloons, fresh roses, and candles so when Bo wakes up his eyes will light up! I know he is too little to read, but i am making sweetheart note streamers to hang from the door of his nursery too!
Morning:
Strawberry and banana crepes for Bo
Make Daddy's picture craft!
Deliver Valentines to family and friends
Afternoon:
Go to Costco for flowers (my girlfriend's Gpa passed sooo, it will be nice to drop something off with the cake batter bark) and groceries! Bo always gets a churro!
During naptime I will decorate the table and make bruschetta
Evening:
Bo:
French bread cheese pizza
X-O salad
(H and I will pour the vino and munch on bruschetta)
poached pear with a raspberry sauce and vanilla ice cream
Bathies will be with red glow sticks-lots of bubbles and Rod stewart on Pandora! HaHa!
After Bo is in dreamland H and I's menu is:
-Grilled Filets and garlic butter shrimp
-Garlic mashed potatoes
-Mushrooms in a red wine glaze
-Chocolate Chocolate chip brownies and chocolate dippped strawberries
Red wine!! Cheers
I have a little something something up my sleeve for the evening! Life is good!
Nothing big. We actually celebrated over the weekend.
I got my H a keychain that says "If I could choose again, I'd still choose you" and a card. I got a box of red hots that will be from Max and helped him sign a valentine . My H works that night so I'm thinking about taking Max out or getting some take-out. Oh and I am helping co-host a playdate so Max and I will be gone all morning for that.
ETA: I got Max a V-Tech interactive book, a card, and a cute new utensil set from the dollar spot at Target.
