infant spasms??

What can you tell me about infant spasms? Doctors believe my LO has infant suddering syndrome. They still want him checked for spasms though. Just trying to do some research ahead of time.

    My daughter was diagnosed with infantile spasms at age 1. I can tell you if they think this is what he has push for a fast diagnosis. Have they done an EEG yet? Do you have a Children's Hospital nearby? The earlier it is treated the better the outcome. My daughter didn't have the typical symptoms that go along with it and it probably wasn't diagnosed as quickly as it should have. Once we had the diagnosis though she was admitted that day to the hospital and treatment was started immediately. Try not to google too much, there are some very sad stories out there that go along with the diagnosis. Your son is young, so it seems like they caught it early. My daughter is three now, she is delayed, but she is much better than some of the sad internet cases with this diagnosis. If you need any help let me know.

    We went for an EEG yesterday. We'll get results in 7-10 days. The tech told me things look good and she believes he is just shuddering. Of course, I'm still worried, but feel better knowing he's still young.

    Thanks for your advice. I'll be seeking you out if we're diagnosed with spasms.
