Long Day with an AWESOME finish

We got up at 3:00 this morning (hangover mostly gone thank God) and got on a plane. DS squirmed the whole first flight. Then DH and I were separated for the second flight and I got DD and he got DS. DD was an angel who decided that the 4 kids sitting near us needed to share her play dough. Love it.

We got to our hotel at around 4:00 and both kids were just toast. We are staying at the Animal Kingdom lodge. DD's favourite animal in the whole world is a giraffe. She just loves them. We have a savannah view room and when we checked in I asked for one with the best chance of seeing giraffes. We got to our room and there were no animals outside. I was disappointed because DD didn't know we were supposed to have a giraffe view.

We went to dinner and DH but DS to bed while DD and I went swimming. We came back to the room and just after I got DD ready for bed I looked out the window and there was an impala. I got DD out of bed and turned around again and saw three giraffes strolling into view. DD didn't see them so we caught her reaction to them on video.

She has been saying for months now that when she is 14 she will see a real giraffe. She saw the giraffe, said, "OH. MY. GOSH!" and then nothing else.

She has been in and out of bed to go check on the giraffes for about an hour now. The Giraffes are sleeping right outside our balcony.
