What's next, after Clomid?

Just had my third failed Clomid cycle and am upset. I'm ovulating fine on it, but just not getting pregnant. I'm frustrated and feel like there is more we could be doing so I told them I was taking December off (holidays, destress) and then we'll start up next cycle. I have an appt on 12/19 to discuss our next options. Just wondering what you did next, after Clomid. I'm hoping there is something between this and IUI since we are OOP.

Has your DH had an SA? If you can do injectables with timed intercourse that would prob increase the amount of eggs produced hopefully giving you better chances. However these meds are way more $ than clomid so I would talk to your doctor about it....g/l!

Femara could be an option....it's a drug similar to clomid.

We're OOP too. That's why I was on Clomid for so long myself, only $18 a cycle! See my siggie...I was on it WAY too long. I also produced at least one, if not 2 follies on it, but never got pregnant (except for my chemical pregnancy). You can move onto injectibles with TI if you're not ready for IUI. Or Clomid with IUI. That's probably around the same price. I'd shoot for Clomid/IUI if you had to pick. OOP sucks, I know. But please learn from my mistakes. To me it came to "time is money". Clomid is cheap, but if I'm not getting pregnant what's the point. This was my first cycle on injectibles...here's hoping it's the one that finally works! I actually got my Follistim donated from a fellow nestie, 2 cycles worth actually, so it was cheaper than Clomid for me. But won't be once that runs out. GOOD LUCK with whatever you decide.

i did seven rounds of clomid... six with TI and one with IUI. next month we're moving to injectables w/IUI.

My doctor only kept me on clomid 2 cycles, still no ovulation then referred to RE. After testing started gonal-f w/ trigger and IUI.

So far I've had 2 failed Clomid cycles (and I was also doing IUI). I'm starting my 3rd and final Clomid/IUI cycle this week. After that it looks like we'll be moving on to Follistim/IUI. I'm producing good follicles on Clomid and I'm ovulating just fine, but I'm not getting pregnant. And my luteal phase is still only around 10 days. So I'm not sure what's going on. I'm sorry you have to pay OOP for all this, it makes the decision on what to do next that much harder.

I referred myself to an RE after 4 failed clomid cycles... if I'd gone to 6, my ob/gyn probably would have referred me over for injectibles himself.

We didn't get the SA done until after I went to the RE, so that explained why the clomid didn't work....

Maybe you could try TI with injectables before moving on to IUI if DH has had a fine SA.
