I'm back & update/re-intro?

Well, I'm back. It feels like I've been away forever even though it's only been a month & a half - I've lurked here and there but I'm sure I've missed quite a bit. I hope that everybody is doing well (well, as well as possible when dealing with IF).

Here's the latest & greatest with my situation. Since taking my little hiatus I've lost 12 lbs. It's not much but I'm on the right track - I have about 40 more to go - but I'm headed in the right direction.

I was supposed to have my first RE appointment this Friday, but I got a call today saying that they need to reschedule - so instead I will be seeing them on the 23rd. I was bummed out at first, but I called the office back explaining to them my OB wanted me to start IUI this cycle and that I was hoping to do it with the RE's office for obvious reasons (monitoring etc). The woman was really nice and the new appointment works out well with this plan as I will be seeing them on the day (or day before) I should expect IUI. So, she said to continue with this plan - I already have my monitoring setup for this cycle thanks to them- and to call them on the 21st with the results from the monitoring - if all is well they would be more then willing to do the consult & IUI at the same time with a note from my OB saying that I was indeed ready for IUI that day.

So, looks like I'm back in the game, I have my monitoring setup, and I won't have to miss yet another cycle. I'm glad to be back on the active IF wagon - although being inactive wasn't as bad as I had thought - it gave DH and I time to destress, re-evaluate and enjoy life!

Thanks everybody!! I'm quite nervous about the IUI - just the unknown, I suppose. For those of you who have had one - does it feel similar to the HSG?

My IUI was a little painful, but nowhere close to what the HSG is like. I have a curved cervix and it was hard for the doc to get the catheter in. I think that is where my pain came from.

I think most women say that IUI is no more painful than a pap.
