So we are meeting one of our potential MWs tomorrow and I was hoping you ladies could help me think of important questions I should ask.

    For hospital, birth center, or home birth midwives:

    What signals a need to transfer to obstetric care? The answer will vary based on training and if the midwife has to follow an OBs rules or hospital rules.

    What advice is given for excercise nutrition? Do they recommend any particular childbirth classes, breastfeeding support, etc?

    You can also ask.how they handle labor support. Are they present as long as you want them? Will they be hands off or must you have certain procedures done? What positions are moms usually in for labor birth.
