Verifi, MaterniTi, etc. testing

Is anyone else doing this?  DH and I looked into this and are pretty sure we're going to go ahead and do the verifi testing next week.  It sounds like as long as we submit it to our PPO insurance, our max out of pocket will be $200 (even if claim rejected) and they test for:

The basic verifi? test detects:

  • T21 (Down syndrome)
  • T18 (Edwards syndrome)
  • T13 (Patau syndrome)

Now a wider option is available for sex chromosomes at no extra charge:

  • Monosomy X (MX, Turner syndrome)
  • XXX (Trisomy X)
  • XXY (Klinefelter syndrome)
  • XYY (Jacob?s syndrome)
  • Fetal sex (XX or XY) ? aids in stratifying the risk for X-linked disorders such as hemophilia, Duchenne muscular dystrophy or cases of ambiguous genitalia, such as congenital adrenal hyperplasia

    we did MaterniT21...should have results this week...and then NT scan next week...

    Any particular reason y'all are doing these tests? AMA? Family hx?
    Me 33. DH 32. TTC Since 6/2011. 12/2012-m/c, CP. DH: MFI. CCT/HSG/day 3 blood work-all nl. IVF#1 ER- 8/7/12, ET- 8/10. beta 8/25 neg, I did not respond as expected. AMH: 0.88. IVF#2 BCP-10/19. Micro flare Lupron-Nov: It's a bust. IVF#3 Planned for Feb '13 with a long lupron protocol ON OUR OWN!!! BFP- 1/12/13. Yay! EDD 9/18, now EDD 9/25

    For me, I'm just neurotic, and will take any opportunity to check for potential problems, no matter how remote.  We know several families that have babies with Downs, and I think it made us a little more sensitive to making sure we're prepared well in advance in the unlikely event LO has a problem.

    The silver lining is knowing the sex 100% at 11 weeks :-)  My doc said she had several women having the test done only for that reason, but I haven't gotten *that* cray yet.

    Why do you do both? I thought if you did MaterniT21, you didn't do the NT scan? I don't know much about MaterniT21, I think it's new since my son was born.

    I have my appt for the MaterniT test tomorrow morning. My OB sent the referral in for me because of my age (36).

    I'm definitely going to do one of those.  I'm 36.   I'm still seeing an RE, not an OB yet.  We will figure it out then.

    I am doing the MaterniTi and the NT scan because of my age.  They recommeded that even if I picked the MaterniTi that the NT scan was still good to get. I don't go till next week and super nervous.
