Last baby?

If this is your last baby, are you thinking about permanent birth control? What method? When? We're thinking DH will get a vasectomy, probably a few months after the LO arrives. A friend's DH got snipped while she was pregnant so he could dry out before she was fertile again. I don't think I could do it that early, I'm never convinced I have a healthy baby until it's out.

We 'think' this is our last baby but won't take permanent measures quite yet. I usually go back on the Pill between pregnancies but since I'm pretty sure this is it for us I will likely do Mirena or some other form of longer-term birth control. I'd love for DH to eventually have a vasectomy but I think we'll hold off until we're 100% sure we're done.

I'm going to try for a VBAC, but if I have a repeat c section I will be getting a tubal. If I deliver vaginally, my OB's office offers Essure. It's like an IUD that goes in your tubes. It's a noninvasive procedure and effectiveness can be tested.

This will be my last pregnancy. I frankly feel we don't need to use any method of BC since I'm so IF, but DH has convinced himself that we could have an oops. He read somewhere about vasectomy places offering March Madness specials so you have the procedure done and then get to sit on your azz watching basketball while you recover. He is way too excited about it.

I don't like the idea at all, but it is his body. I told him he has to wait until next year, after this baby is born.

We're stopping at 2. DH proclaimed he was getting a vasectomy after I told him about the BFP. I actually have endometriosis and I was interested in some kind of long term BC that would help suppress this condition.

This is our first/last, but I don't see us doing any kind of permanent BC. I may do Mirena again for a while though.

This is our last too. DH is getting a vasectomy during our 6 week "time out". He brought it up before we even got pregnant, I'm going to get snipped! Lol

This is our first baby, but I am strongly considering being one and done. Of course that could change and I am open to it, but right now after considering how long it took us to get pregnant with this one (18 months), the fact that I will be 34 when I deliver, and I've had recent (in the last couple years) panic attacks about having more than one kid, and wondering if I can do it, one might be best for us. Just seems that everyone I know did great with one kid, then add in number two and it's chaos, especially when the kids are close in age.

But, I have always wanted two kids, and I know once our kid is here and I see that I can do this, I could see the desire to add to our family being there. Basically I am open to both options and it will just have to be a "play it by ear" situation. However I do know if we're not ready by the time we're 38, then we're done. Maybe even 37.

To actually answer your question, we won't do anything permanent until we hit that point of no return. I won't go back on hormonal BC though, so while we're still deciding we'll likely use condoms. IF we have a second and I have a Csection, I'd be fine with getting my tubes tied at that time, but if not I would really hope MH would agree to a vasectomy. Years ago he said no, but I think once we're in that situation (and after seeing what all I go through with childbirth) he would be more open to the idea.

I was having issues on BC so I really dont want to go back on. But I have never had issues with the BC they give for when you are breast feeding so I told my DH I would take that until he got snipped. I have never had c-section but decided if I have to have one I would get tubal then. However, awhile back DH says he doesn't think I should take anymore BC because how it bothered me so much. But then he said he doesn't know when he will get snipped and we shouldn't make rash decision. I will be 33 I have 13 and 10 year old kids from previous marriage!! I looked at him like he just killed the pope...his calm cool reaction was "what I just think we shouldn't make any quick choices and if you get pregnant we will roll with it"

UMMMM I think I will ask for the BC script just in case

This is our last baby. We feel very blessed to have had three successful pregnancies and vaginal deliveries resulting in healthy, happy children. DH and I had always agreed on four children. We feel extremely lucky to have had a baby boy, and a baby girl. We found out the sex at the a/s for babies #1 and #2 but we were Team Green for our third LO and are Team Green again for this baby. We are truly just super excited to meet the little one who will complete our family. After baby arrives, DH will be getting a vasectomy, his suggestion - to give us permanent piece of mind that we are done. Smile

This is definitely our last baby. I had Paragard for 2 years between DD2 and this LO and will likely do that again as I am not crazy about another 10+ years on hormonal BC. I also am iffy about having DH get a vasectomy for his sake... he stepped on an IED in Iraq years ago and had traumatic groin injuries which resulted in multiple surgeries and it just seems unfair to me to ask him to go through any more. And it makes me worry about triggering his PTSD. So yeah, he probably gets out of that one.

This is definately our last child and my last pregnancy. I'm done having children after this point. Since I'll be having a repeat c-section, I am having the doctor seal off my remaining tube. If I was not already having the surgery, DH would go get a vesectomy.

We are 2 and through. I am trying to convince DH to get snipped, but he keeps saying he's only getting cut once in his life down there and it happened when he was 8 days old. So I'll probably get Essure.

I'm honestly not sure. Our first DD was planned, but this LO was a surprise. I was on the pill. We had planned on having a second, but not so soon. I think I'll try an IUD after this LO is born, so I can avoid the pill. I'm not comfortable with doing anything permanent until I'm 35.

This will be out last pregnancy. We've always wanted three, and hopefully we're getting them now. Dh will get snipped about a year after the birth just to make sure.

We plan to have three, so one more after this LO. I think will start trying when this one is one year old. We get pregnant pretty easily, lol. DD was a huge surprise and we got pregnant with this LO on the first try. DH says he is going in for vasectomy as soon as the third one lets out it's first cry, lol.

DH will be getting the snip. He asked for it as soon as I found out I was pregnant. Will will be waiting until this one is at least 6-12 months old though as a friend did something similar and then lost her baby to SIDS so that is sadly in the back of my mind.

This is our third and last child, but I am opposed to any permanent birth control, whether it is messing with my body or my DH's body. No snipping, no tube-tying, no nothing.
