YES .. it has been horrible, to the point where most nights I end up vomiting. My midwife told me that our bodies acclimate to the same med and that I needed to switch it up. I have been alternating zantac, tums smoothies and generic pepcid chewables .. I really hope this goes away after LO is born .. its been the most uncomfortable part of this pregnancy
My two best friends have been tums n Zantac 150, it's amazing how much it helps. When I wake up at night I take tums. Also I have found that drinking milk helps too.
With mild heartburn I use Tums Smoothies (regular Tums are gross to me and DO NOT work).
For severe heartburn, I take 2 tbsp of white vinegar. I swear by it. I'd write more about it but I already wrote a bunch on another heartburn post earlier today and don't feel like repeating myself. lol Sorry! :S
Pre-pregnancy, I've used Zantac in the past. I've tried to not use meds as much as possible though...which is why I've been sticking with white vinegar since it works for me!

I started off with Tums, then Zantac 75, but the burning persisted. It was constant so even when I ate non-acidic food it still burned. I finally asked my doctor if there was anything else I could take and she gave me a prescription for Prevacid! OMG! It was my miracle. I have not had heartburn since and I can actually enjoy spaghetti and orange juice now.
I've been taking the Zantac 75 but might need to switch to the 150 because my heartburn will go away for an hour or two then rear it's ugly head again. The worst is when it wakes me up in the middle of the night. I swear it feels like the burning is going all the way up to my ears sometimes.
Sipping a glass of milk does help for a short period of time if you don't have an antacid in the house.
Tums and my doctor told me if it's really bad I can take a Pepcid.
The past few days my heartburn has magically stopped. I feel like my baby has dropped, so I'm not sure if this is causing less heartburn. Whatever the reason, I am so happy because the heartburn was awful!
