Beatrix, Mae, Louisa--rising in popularity?

I'm due in 10 days, we're team green and we have no official girl name. Beatrix, Mae and Louisa are names that both of us like and I imagine if we have a girl, she will be named one of these. I really don't want a name that is going to shoot up the charts and become popular or trendy. So, with that said, do you think any of these names are likely to do that? If so, which ones (please don't say all of them!)? Our daughter is named Frances and if we have a boy, his name will be Garrison Walter (Walt for short). Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • I think Louisa Mae sounds good. I don't see it getting too popular either.

  • Love them all! None will be popular or trendy. I like Beatrix Mae as a combo
  • Louise/Louisa seems to be trending now as a name. I personally know several people who have used it within the last 3 years, and it is suggested as a MN frequently on the bump.

  • i think they are trending b/c of the whole old lady name popularity going on right now but i dont think they will be top 100 names. (although i love them all!)

  • I think that while both Louisa and Beatrix are becoming more common, I don't know that either will be shooting up to the top of the charts. I could see that with Louisa before Beatrix. I may be wrong, but I think that Mae is fairly popular as a middle name?

  • I LOVE the name Mae.  However, my husband insists only hookers & sluts are named Mae.  Ugh!  I don't think that way.  It's so pretty!

FYI - we go to the same breakfast place every Sunday & every Sunday a grandpa & his grandson come in at the same time.  The grandson's name is Walter - he is adorable and his name is adorable.  An older classic that you never see anymore!

I think Mae is rising as a middle name but is still quite rare as a FN. The baby name wizard blog did a post this past year on how unpopular Louise and Louisa are. I can't remember but it's worth looking for and reading. I have met a couple Beatrixes called Trixie. I don't think it's at all popular but may be on the rise a bit.

  • Thanks so much everyone! I'm really hoping that she just looks like a name and that it is an easy decision :)
