Freaking out

I am 10 weeks today but over the weekend I did some light house work. Just minor stuff, saturday I cleaned the toilet and lightly dusted and stuff like that. The I was completely exhausted the rest of the night. While I was in middle of it , I thought, hmmm maybe I shouldn't be doing this because I had some brown spotting off and on the past few weeks. Then Sunday came and I cleaned the other toilet cause I felt pretty good and vacuumed 1 room and mopped the kitchen. Then I was tired again. Now, today I woke up with brown spotting again. And I am having cramps. It moves but for the last while it has been quite low in the abdomen area. Sometimes it's under my right rib or near the right ovary. Going to see doc tomorrow but do you all think I have anything to worry about. The nurse said they don't worry too much bout brown spotting more  so bright red. However, I have read a few posts on here and now my mind is going crazy. Thanks!

Re: Freaking out

  • I'd be freaking out reading this board with any spotting, too, but just remember that this board has a LOT of people on it, most of whom don't post much, but who will post if they have to say goodbye. Goodbyes are ultimately pretty rare. At 10 weeks your chances are low for a miscarriage. It could happen but they are pretty low. Try not to freak yourself out! I think that housework is fine but activity can lead to harmless spotting. So if you are getting yourself worked up then take it easy. I hope everything is ok!

  • Hope everything is ok! Try to stay calm and wait until you see the doctor.

  • IMO, spotting is always cause for concern. You're doing the right thing by going to the doctor right away. Good luck.

  • Had the same thing with my two previous pregnancies and currently having it with this pregnancy and I've yet to have any problems. So far I've had two healthy full term babies. So of course take it easy around the house and check with your MD but it doesn't sound like anything super worrisome to me (if it were bright red I'd be more worried for you). Congrats and good luck with the appointment!

This. However, the light chores you did shouldn't have caused the spotting. Heck, I run almost every day. I did 7 miles last Saturday and I will do 12 miles this Saturday.  My OB told me (during my last pg) that exercise/activity won't cause a m/c. If its going to happen, it will happen. So don't worry about the chores you did. Sometimes an OB will tell you to do pelvic rest when they want the bleeding to stop but again, if the m/c is going to happen, you can't stop it. If you have a hematoma or something like that, then rest is good because it can stop the hemorrhaging. Hopefully you will get good news from the doc!

Not to freak her out further but, miscarriages are low at 10 weeks assuming you've had a healthy pregnancy so far and you have seen the heartbeat already.  Remember a lot of people haven't had their first u/s yet.

I would definitely be going to the doctor too.  But then again, some of us are being  overly cautious because we have been burned before.

This. I hope everything is ok. And I am sure it was not the cleaning that caused it, but even when nothing is wrong it is good for your dr to have spotting on your record.
