Breast pump rental near Phoenix AZ? American Bumpies help!

Hi Ladies!

I need some advice:

We live in Canada and DH and I are heading down to Phoenix in a couple weeks with our friends.

My friend has a 4 month old and has been pumping and renting the Medela symphony here for a couple months now. She doesn't want to bring it down as its quite cumbersome and we have to pay per checked item with the airline anyways.

Here in Canada, we rent the pumps from our pharmacy. She called CVS in Maricopa where we will be staying and they said they don't rent them and don't know of anyone who does. She'd really like to find a place she can rent it as spending 100 dollars to buy a low grade pump doesn't really make sense since she won't be using it when she comes home.

If any of you ladies pump and rent the pump, where do you rent it? Is this even an option there? I'd love if anyone had any info!

Thank you so much!

    I'm not in Phoenix, but most hospitals have pumps available for rent.nbsp;

    Hmmm, I imagine us being Canadian might be an issue, like health insurance, etc? Or no?

    I wouldn't think so. The hospital I delivered at had the pumps (for rent or purchase) in the gift shop. As long as you give a valid credit card, I wouldn't see the issue. That said. I'd just bring the pump I already have with me. I've traveled with a pump before and yes, they're bulky, but. You know how it works, etc.

    I agree. I'd take it if it were me too.

    Thank you for your help, ladies! I'll let her know to check out both those options!
  • How about a cheap manual pump? I have a $25 manual pump that I use to pump at home and when I travel. I've used it to build up a stash before returning to work. It's also super convenient to pump on airplanes. At work I use a Medela symphony that is provided by work, but honestly I find my lansinoh hand pump more comfortable and more efficient as it doesn't really take me any longer to pump both breast than with the double electric pump
