GD Diet Question

Ok, I planned for us to have steak fajitas for dinner tonight.  When I was planning the meal I didn't think about the carb count of the onion.  How many carbs should I plan for and onion?

 

I've been doing well but things like this really throw me for a loop at the last minute.

  • I usually don't count veggies.

  • The small amount of onion is not going to matter.  A good rule of thumb is MOST veggies (not those shucked or shelled) average 5 g per cup (raw).  If eating large quantities of veggies,you do need to count them in your carb count.
  • You probably don't need to count the onion. The only veggies I had to count were starchy - potatoes, carrots, corn.

  • Thanks ladies! I didn't add too many so I took your advice and considered them free.  We'll see in just a bit what my numbers are and how I did judging my carbs.  Sometimes I want to wave a wand and not have to worry about things so much.

  • Veggies are free. You need to worry about the tortillas rice seasoning and dressings.
