first day back to work!

and boy am I tired.  DH stayed with the boys all night so that I could sleep.  He works noon to midnight and never really goes to bed until 3 or 4am anyways so it just works out better if he takes care of them.  He waits until they wake up at 5am, feeds and changes them and puts them down.  I get up, get the kids dressed, fed and take them to daycare.  Well I already miss my lunchtime naps!  It feels nice to get back to some sense of normality.

How is everyone else doing?  I know there are some MoM's who has gone back already I think.

  • Yuck, I am already dreading that day.  But it sounds like it is going fairly well for you.  Good to hear! Hang in there, it will be over soon!  Smile

  •  I poked myself in the eye this morning as I realized I was late for work. Yikes!  My daughter laughed cause I was dancing around the house like a loon. Other than that everything went ok.  My boss is pretty laid back and really didn't expect me to be on time after having 3.5 months off lol.

I miss wandering downstairs and making my own food. Grinding and brewing my own coffee.

  • Wow 3.5 months?!  Good for you!  No wonder you were relieved to get back to a routine!

  • That's good your H has a different schedule so you can get some sleep at night. Hope it gets easier with time.

  • Good for you! I'm already dreading going back. :/ I'll have been out for 6.5 months at that point...so it'll be quite the adjustment going back. But, it'll be mid-May, so hopefully the germophobe in me will be able to calm down a bit (I'm seriously going to need to slowly ease myself back into going into public without freaking out). Ugh, the preemie parent curse.

We were planning on day care before the girls arrived so dang early, but pedi and neonatologist have said said no-go on DC until they're at least two (to give their lungs and immune systems time to catch up), so now we're trying to hire someone to watch the girls 2-3 days a week (essentially the days my parents aren't going to come to the house to watch our little ladies), so that adds a whole additional layer of panic and stress. I'm way too Type-A and a control freak for this....argh. :/
