Babies: 0 - 3 Months

hello all u new mummys :)

hi there guys, i am currently 35 weeks pregnant with baby number 2. I have a 2 year old daughter who i love more than anything, i am having another wee girl and am so excited but have to be honest about something...i struggle to see how i will love another as much as i love her!! so i thought i would come to u new mums who have more than one baby already and ask u all, did u have the same feeling as me before u had number 2, 3, 4 baby? and how did u feel when u first met them? thanks in advance :)

  • I think it's a different love. I love DS just as much as DD, but DD will always hold that special place in my heart as my first born. Being completely honest here... I think it took me longer to develop the love for DS. With DD she was my world from the minute she was born. With DS I didn't have as much of a chance to focus on just him when he was born. I loved him right away, but I didn't really stop to appreciate and enjoy him until 3 or 4 weeks.

But you will adjust and you will love your new LO just as much as the first. And like PP said, seeing them interact is an amazing experience on its own.

  • I worried about this too before DD was born.  You will see that you WILL love them both equally... it's like your heart doubles in size to allow you to love another.  Think about when you had your first-- did you think you could love him/her as much as your DH?  Same thing.
