I tried looking on several pages to see if there was a recent post regarding bottle recommendations, but couldn't find one. So, can I get some bottle recommendations. I plan to breastfeed, but also want to be prepared with bottles just in case. I had registered for Dr. Brown's but honestly was overwhelmed by all the choices. I also got several nipples with different flow levels. Any suggestions and recommendations?
Also, is a bottle warmer necessary? are the Dr. Brown bottles safe to warm up?
Re: Bottles
I love the Avent Natural bottles. I bought them when I had a coupon (look out for those- Target has them a lot). They are much better than the old Avent bottles (shape and easier to put together) and my son had no problem going from bottle to breast. We also tried Tommee Tippee bottles and like those as well. I know several people love the Dr. Brown's bottles so you made a good choice. I just wouldn't start by buying a lot of any kind at first... wait and see what your baby likes. With that in mind, I would register for the slow flow nipples first to see if you end up liking the bottle.
IMO I would skip the bottle warmer...especially if you are primarily BF. I just run bottles under warm water in the sink when I need one. But once again, I know several people who love having one.

I also use my Keurig to get hot water, so a bottle warmer hasn't been a necessity for us.
We honestly used the Evenflo nursers. They were cheap, easy to clean, and we didn't have any issued with gas, etc. We used the glass ones, so they were definitely safe to heat up, but I believe their plastic ones are also fine.
The bottle warmer is totally up to you. My daughter didn't like cold milk, so we did have to warm it up. You can just use a cup of hot water to warm bottles up if you want.
