Re: TTC Check-in

  • Me:  I am getting geared up and actually excited to go back to the clinic in March and get on the TTC-train.   We're getting our ducks in line for an injectables cycle (or two) - so I'm just trying to mentally, emotionally and physically prepare for that.  Plus line up my schedule in advance so that it meshes with monitoring appts as smoothly as possible.

I'm currently torn on the idea of Acupuncture.   I trust that acupuncture WORKS, and that it would do good things to support good reproductive function - but honestly, I don't really like it.  I'm not needle-squeamish -  I just don't find acupuncture very relaxing at all, but I can feel the difference it makes on my asthma, so.....   Today I'm wrestling with whether or not I should do it anyway because it might help, or if I should just feel confident in my feeling of not doing it because I don't want to!  Smile

Otherwise, my genetics results came back last week in the "grey zone".  This actually isn't too bad - because it means any future baby we haven't isn't at risk of the chromosome abnormality, but their kids may have a chance of it - or not at all.   We have decided that we're not going to worry about it right now, but will make sure our potential kid has access to genetic counselling later if they want it.

Otherwise, am good.  Will be 31 years old this week - so a bit freaked out about that, but am otherwise feeling decent and less stressed so far this week. Smile

  • Hello.

We are into week 2 of the TWW, I have been having sore breasts since about day 7pIUI.  But otherwise feeling fine and keeping busy.  The sore boobs make me feel like AF may be coming soon, although I shouldn't get it until Thurs or Friday.  We are still resisting the urge to test early.   L is staying positive, while I expect my period every time I go to into the bathroom.  We are in this weird phase where neither of us wants to talk about whether we are preg or not.  I think we were both so excited with our first IUI and don't want to go through another big let down.

In other news, I found out that I will be for sure changing jobs in April.  Moving from a community hospital to urban ER.  It will be challenging but I am looking forward to the change.

Hope everyone is doing well this week.

  • Hello friends! DW and I are still in the preparation phase of ttc. We did meet again with potential KD and that was wonderful. He is no longer a potential KD. He and his wife are on exactly the same page as DW and I as far as parenting/coparenting (no involvement from them) and they actually prefer it that way.

I am tracking with FF and this is the first cycle that I have started tracking temps and CM. I know I am a day away or so from O because I get the same signals each month. I do have PCOS, so am I certain that I am actually O'ing? No. :)

How about this for QOTW: How many kids do you want? My answer: honestly, I would be happy with just one, but if we happen to have twins, I'm okay with that, too. The LO will have 18 close cousins who all live within 20 miles, so LO won't be lonely!

QOTW: How many kids do you want?
    Good question!

My answer -- 2, 3 if we get twins!  In an ideal world, H and I wanted to each carry a pregnancy.  Now that I have IF issues diagnosed, it might not happen that way - but I still want to have more than one kiddo, even if H. ends up being the one to carry both of them.   I have a much younger sister & brother and I cherish them so much -- it just feels GOOD to have them in my life, they are two of my 3 favourite people in the whole world.

  • Like Manada, I'm getting a bit tired of this month off and am ready to start again. But unless we do a swoop-in, unmedicated IUI in the next couple days (probably not the best use of our money or emotional energy), we've got another 2.5 weeks to wait to start the next cycle.

It's probably good that today is not TTT day because if it were, I think at least 6 of my 10 things would be about how much I hate my period and the cramps that accompany it.

QOTD: Two or three! If M and I each get pregnant with our own eggs with singletons, then we'll probably go with two birthed-from-our-bodies babies and then maybe adopt at some point (or maybe just keep it at two depending on how life goes). If M and I end up using IVF to knock her up with my eggs and knock me up with my own eggs, then maybe 3 if we have two singletons and decide we're not done ... And if situations we haven't yet predicted occur, then at least one kid from somewhere (our bodies or adopted).

    ****loss discussed*****

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
    BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
    1st ultrasound (3/6  6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.

***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

    FET #1 December 2014
Intralipid infusion on Dec 10. Transfer of 1 day 3 nine-cell embryo into my uterus on Dec. 19. (acupuncture immediately before and after)
    BFP on Dec. 27; Beta 1 Jan 2 (14dp3dt): 665, Beta 2 Jan 4 (16dp3dt): 1859, Beta 3 Jan 6 (18dp3dt): 4449, Beta 4 Jan 10 (22dp3dt): 12,251.

  • QOTD:  I want two babies, my DW wants three or more.  There are a few problems with having more than two.  First of all, we don't have one and having 1 is exhausting let alone 3 or more.  Plus its so expensive!!  My DW has no desire to carry a child, so its all up to me :-)

As for an update on us.  I went to my Primary Care Dr (I love her) on Thursday and had blood work done.  Typical stuff for a yearly physical, but also testing my thyroid, check for diabetes, and checking my hormones.  The good news is that everything came back normal.  The bad news is that I don't have any answers for symptoms I am having.  They are nothing major or life threatening, just annoying.  While at the Dr I finally started my period, 9 days late.  So I am back to tracking and as soon as we get a positive ovulation we are going to do another insemination.  Since we are using a KD, its easy for us.  We just have to coordinate schedules.  If we do not get a BFP this month, then we are going to seek the help of an RE for some assistance.  So let's cross our fingers!

  • Hey everyone ! Today is our one year anniversary !! My period has ened and I order my frozen sperm for iui last week. I have been trying to reach my doctor and she just called and told me to call when I ovulate . So next Tuesday is when I should ovulate. I have a 28 day cycle so usually after 9 after my period I ovulate. So hopefully everything works out next week and I am very nervous and she is really calm lol!

I have two girls 15 and my youngest will be 7 on Tuesday. So I would to have two more.
  • Hi all, thanks for the TTC checkin. I wish you all the best in this sometimes frustrating process!

I start my injections to supress ovulation tomorrow, which seems wierd but necessary sine we are doing partner IVF. My wife will start her inejections to stimulate egg growth, and on Valentines day we have our IVF class at clinic followed by psych eval to ensure we are both mentally stable for this process. I am so ready. If all goes well retrieval and transfer will be in early march.

Qotd: before we said two but now I want three! I'm open to however many, within reason.
