So LO will be starting solids in about 6 weeks, and I'd like to make my own purees. I've read you can thin cereal, fruits and veggies out with BM, and I think this would be a good use for the excess freezer stash I have. I'm assuming that you can't thaw frozen BM use it in the puree, re-freeze, and then later thaw and serve to baby.
So what do you do? Make baby food without thinning and freeze, then thaw baby food and thaw BM and mix? Or do you pump fresh to mix in the baby food before freezing. Any reason either way is better/easier?
Re: BM in solids Qs
No, you can't re-freeze the milk. We have done a combo of both, just depending on how much fresh milk we had. We mostly would make the food and then mix just before feeding DS.
Now, I just make the food and add the water we steam the food with to thin it some. My supply went down again so I don't want to use as much of my freezer supply since I have to take from the freezer almost daily.
