Recommend your video monitor

We are looking to get a video monitor for DS. He's still in our room and we are going to transition him into his but I'm having anxiety about it so we are looking to get a video monitor so I can have a better piece of mind. I've been reading all kinds of reviews and can't decide so I thought I'd see what thoughts you ladies had. We'd like one that can have multiple cameras for when we have our next DC. Thanks ladies!

  • We have the mobicam dxr and love it!  Awesome picture quality, easy set up and just all around we are really pleased with it.  Plus it was reasonably priced compared to others!

  • We use the Summer touch screen.

I love it. The camera pans, turns, and tilts super far. I can see every bit of DS room. There's no night light or anything on it. The video is good all over our house, never cuts out. The camera comes with a battery base so you can travel or move the camera briefly without having to plug it in. It's great!

  • I LOVE our Motorola MBP 36.  You can use multiple cameras with it.  You can adjust the camera easily and either hang it on a wall or set on a piece of furniture.  It has been easy for us to move around.  I also love that it has a zoom.  Being able to turn on music has also been helpful although the music is somewhat annoying.  Our first one did break but the company was very responsive in sending us another one.  This has been one of my top 2 favorite baby purchases.  I highly recommend it.
  • I have an Angelcare.  I love it because I don't even have to look in the monitor to know everything is ok.  There is a sensor pad that goes under the mattress and alarms if it doesn't detect movement (even as subtle as breathing).  It really gave me a lot of peace of mind when DD had a cold and was sleeping in her own room.

  • Motorola is awesome- forget which model, was about $300.
  • We have the Motorola one that has been mentioned a few times. My only thing I don't like about it is that you can't completely shut the sound off. We used to have a stationary Summer Infant monitor and I liked that you could turn the sound all the way down, but keep the picture up.

The other thing I wish is that it had a clip on the back. Other then that, I really like this one over our old one.

  • We've got a basic video monitor from Levana (was at WalMart, not terribly expensive) and we quite like it. there are bigger models with the ability to save photos and videos on them which is neat.

We have the Motorola and the volume can be turned all the way down on our model as well.  We love it!  It was expensive, but well worth the money.  The reason we went with the Motorola vs. Summer Infant was bc the Motorola tells you the temperature in the room.  Our house can be like 2 different climate zones from the front to the back, so we were nervous about DD being too cold or too hot.
