Baby dish soap

Are you all still using the stuff? We were using Dapple and now Palmolive Baby to wash DS' stuff, but I've started breaking out in a rash on my arms every time I use it, so I'd like to be done with it. I'm not even that convinced that they're any different from reg dish soap in the first place...

Re: Baby dish soap

  • I feel like this may make me a bad Mom...but I have never even heard of baby dish soap...let alone used it! L's stuff gets washed in the dishwasher or with regular Dawn dish soapSmile

  • I never used a different soap for him. I was using a separate sponge for his stuff but I stopped that about 2 months ago.

  • I think I used Palmolive Baby for maybe a month.  It didn't feel like things were getting as clean so I just started using Dawn (my regular dish soap).  IMO, the Dawn does a better job than the baby dish soap ever did.

  • I have also never heard of baby dish soap. Holy marketing, Batman! I just use Dawn or Gain or whatever the heck I have in my stash under the sink. Go with something like Seventh Generation if you're concerned maybe?

I'm with you on this one.... I never knew it existed. That being said, we've never had any issues with our regular soap.

  • I've never used baby dish soap. The only "baby" stuff like that, that I used, was for his clothes. And I still use that, Dreft, but mainly because I like the smell of it.

  • I have never heard of baby dish soap either.
  • I've never used it. Never even heard of it or even considered there might be such a thing.

And although I knew it existed, I never used baby detergent either...

  • We use an unscented Seventh Generation dish soap on everything inluding DD's stuff... I don't like using artificial scented soaps/cleaners on her things.

  • Avent recommends the use of an unscented soap, so I have been using a 7th Generation unscented product on his bottles, pump, etc.  Now that I am done pumping I do not plan to continue to use different soap for his things, and I prefer scented soap.  His sippies go through the dishwasher.

  • I use Babyganics Organic bottle and dish soap.  It is mild and I use it for bottles, dishes and pump parts.  I was concerned with soap residue.  Sometimes I use regular soap on her dishes that get greasy.  I'm not concerned with how strong the soap is because both I and her DCP immediately rinse everything after use and we wash everything every night by hand.

I use Tide Free and Clear on all of our clothes and always have.  Both DH and I have sensitive skin.
