Yup, we had to leave. Lost power at 10:30 last night when the transformer outside started blowing up. We saw green flashes for about 15 minutes. We had to rough it for the night. After having sleep training success all week, Willow had to sleep with me for the remainder of the night because it got cold FAST!
So today we waited for a while. Not only did we not see a plow but there were no electric trucks for hours. We had to leave at 11 AM when our living room thermostat was registering 40 degrees. I have had a killer cold for the last few days and had the chills but I wanted the baby out of there. I packed up what we could and got out as soon as we could.
My poor husband went outside and cleared an area around the cars, started his car and shut the door. He heard a bang and realized that his rear window completely caved in. The only thing I could think of was, Thank God Willow was not on her way to my sisters on Monday morning when this happened. He swore outside for about a half hour before reminded him that this could have been much worse. So we are being held up at my parents and have been able to shower, keep warm and have a warm meal. Thankfully, they don't live far.
Getting down their street was a challenge. We had to use the snow blower to get through. Hoping everyone else has heat and stays warm in this area.
