Our LO is 6 mos and still use it for nursing...helps with posture and now that she is getting bigger pillows just aren't doing the trick. Yeah! Boppy works great now that LO can sit up she's not 100 percent ready to sit unassisted but boppy works wonders
I ended up buying the my breast friend nursing pillow in the hospital and it was really helpful for feeding after a c-section. It latches around you and kept the pillow about your painful c-section.
I have a boppy too. We actually use that as a support pillow when feeding him a bottle. The boppy was easier when he got a little bigger.
I only used the boppy for nursing for about a month. I did use the boppy for tummy time and around him when he learned to sit. I did use the boppy for nursing when I had an appendectomy but I use it more for non nursing things.
I had, but never used, the Boppy. I took it to the hospital with me and the LC's showed me how to use a regular pillow instead. I tried the Boppy at home and was much more comfortable with just a pillow. I gave the Boppy to a friend.

LO is almost 6 months old. We still use the Boppy for nursing. We also use it for sitting up now. And when he was smaller, we used it as a lounger to prop him in. The first few months, he would sleep on my chest all day, I'd have the Boppy around my waist so he wouldn't slip down. We've got tons of use out of it!
I have the My Brest Friend pillow and used it until DS was about 2 months old (and loved it!). Now I just need a small pillow to support my arm when holding DS in the cradle position.
A friend lent me her My Brest Friend, and I gave it back to her when we moved away when DS was 4 months old. It was helpful at first but I don't think I used it much past month 3.
We have a boppy. I don't think I used it past 2 months. I found it cumbersome. It was easy to just position myself in bed or on the couch in a way I could let DS rest on me. I tried using it to prop DS up. He hated it. I tried using it when he was started to sit up but was unsteady. He hated that, too. We didn't get much use out of it. DH uses it on his lap to hold his laptop now!
My son is 6 months and I still use one. We have the mambo. Firm nursing side, soft lounge side and it vibrates. I can do without, but use when I'm tired. Just puts him right there.
We are at 8 months and still use it. Don't "need" to but it's more comfy. Also, it's funny...when I get the boppy pillow to nurse him, DS knows what it means and starts smiling and kicking out of excitement. He's a chub and really likes to eat:)
I have one and didn't like it the first few months. It was easier to just use regular pillows. I finally found it useful when he was about 5 months old and we still use it now even though he's starting to get a little too long for it. Oh I also tried the Mumbo pillow but I didn't like it at all.

I nursed DS for a full year and used the boppy the whole time. DD is seven months old and we are still usingthe boppy as well. I do the football hold, and I feel like the boppy is a necessity. Maybe not if I was doing a cradle hold?
I absolutely LOVE my nursing pillow. I use a MyBrestFriend pillow. I was invaluable for the first 4-5 months when nursing sessions lasted for hours and she would often fall asleep at the breast. I still liked to use it alot for months 6&7 sessions were shorter, but she still often fell asleep nursing.
But, now at 8-9 months I find I grab for it a lot less. DD is so distractable that if I want her to nurse welll I head for a bed and nurse her lying down in a dark quiet room. During the day her nursing session have become so frequent, and fast (5-8)minutes that I don't reach for a pillow at all.
Had a Bobby but didn't use it much past one month for nursing. He started spitting up alot and the Bobby made him nurse flat, which was bad for the spitting. Once I started holding him on an angle, it was much better and while he has outgrown the spitting, I haven't gone back to the pillow.
Used it all the time, every nursing and when she was learning to sit until about 3 months. She started being able to sit up on her own and I started propping her up with a handy throw pillow instead of retrieving the boppy. Now I don't use the boppy at all.

I had a Boppy that was semi-helpful when I was nursing (it wasn't high enough to get baby all the way up my long torso), but I got rid of it before I was fully done nursing because I didn't really need it for a few feedings a day.
I have a boppy. I used it since day one to nurse LO. I also used it for tummy time and to help her sit up. I think it was worth the money we spent on it.

Hayden is 7 months and the above describes how she reacts when I pick it up too! I used it lots in the first month, stopped for a month as it just wasn't comfy, the started using it again and still am.
I still use my boppy with my 7 month daughter to breastfeed. We also use it to prop her up and to put behind her when she's playing on the floor just in case she falls backwards- which she did a lot when she first was sitting up on her own. I didn't love the boppy at first, but as she got bigger, it was much more effective.
Re: If you BF and have/had a nursing pillow...
This!
Plus when they are starting to sit up on their own you can put around him so if he falls he won't hit his head on the ground.

Yes, this too! The Bobby is great for propping up a wobbly baby.
You ladies are awesome - thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for.
I'm going to probably get a second hand Boppy for ~ $20 as soon as I can justify the price. Thanks again!
