I keep hearing they are like the "Crack" of all teethers! I've been eye balling one at Sam's club. But I would be interested in hearing what other say.
Oh gosh I didn't get how it could possibly be worth the price...until I bit the bullet and got my son one. Not sure why, but that was the one teething item that he loved and actually helped him. We took it everywhere with us even after he stopped teething because he was attached to it.
I really wish it didn't squeak, I got one but returned it right away because as soon as it squeaked my dogs became obsessed with it. We got the smaller round Sophie teether ring and my DD could care less about it.
Well, many babies love it and some couldn't care less, but its safe latex and paint and a popular first toy/teether. DD wasn't much of a fan though, so ours did not get much love. It also squeaks and feels like a dog toy which can be problematic if you have pets. It's challenging to sanitize Sophie because you can't get water inside the squeaker and over time the paint rubs off and looks dingy. I don't feel bad because I paid an amazingly low price for it and it's great shape to pass on to #2 when it's time.
My son really liked this toy. It was one of the few that could really stimulate him at a young age (and is good to chew on!). Sadly I left it in my hot car one day and the squeak died. My son didn't seem to like it quite as much after that. I am pretty sure my dogs ate this toy within a few months of that happening. So if you have chewing dogs it could be risky (though my dogs go for all my son's toys) but it was fun to have and sometimes you will try anything to keep your little one happy!!
DD loves her Sophie. It was one of her first toys that she really liked. She could hold and manipulate it at an early age and she loved to chew on it. We have several teethers and none of them get as much love as Sophie. Our dog was attracted to Sophie because of the squeak but after consistent correction it was no longer a problem. Now he will walk by Sophie and not even look at it.
At first I thought "great I just spent $15 on a glorified dog toy) then I gave it to DD and it literally never left her hands/mouth until 10 months old or so. DS loved it too and still uses it for teething with 2-year molars.

My SIL got me one for our LO...she accidentally drove over her kiddos Sophie and that was the end of the squeaker! She likes it even more now!

late to the game here, but if you put her in the dishwasher she stops squeaking. Sad for us, happy for you!
