BFing more than 1 year

Is anyone planning to BF more than a year? If so, what are your reasons?

My goal is to get to one year. If we continue any breastfeeding, it will be morning and night feedings. I will stop day feedings so that I can lose the pump at work; however, if she's not ready to stop completely I'm ok with that. We just found out we are expecting again, so I'm not sure if that will affect my supply. Right now, I'm just hoping to make it to a year. Not really solid reasoning, but its our plan.

I'm planning on going past a year. Maybe 18 months, maybe longer with one or two nursings a day like I did with DD1 near the end (16 months with her). The benefits of breastfeeding don't end when she turns one, so since it's easy to continue I see no reason to stop then. She'll continue taking more solids just like now and we'll introduce some cow's milk, but I'd like her to keep getting the benefits of BFing.

I'm hoping to lose my daytime pumps around a year, but when I'm home, I'll nurse if he wants to. It's hard to tell what he's taking out of thirst vs hunger now. He still takes 3 bottles at daycare, but when I'm home, he doesn't nurse as often, and he started spitting up again. He regularly takes WCM from a sippy and is improving on taking water from a sippy.

I'm not ready to give up the bond yet, and I know it's still good for him after the year mark. Despite the fact that my mother has told me numerous times that it's well past the point where I should have weaned. Neither of us are ready to wean completely, and we're only one month away from a year now. Ah!

DS is still going strong in the morning and at night so we'll keep doing that for a while. I hope to give up our daytime sessions around a year. He'll be transferring into the toddler room at daycare then and won't get any BM during the day so hopefully that won't be a big deal to do.

I nursed DD until she was 16 months. For the last month we were only doing morning and night. It was still working so I saw no reason to quit. When I reached a point where I knew I was done, I quit.

I nursed my first for 13 months. I was pregnant by then and he weaned himself pretty easily. I suppose my goal for Nathan is around a year. I would like to get through flu season for sure.

I plan to BF until I either can't anymore (due to pregnancy and milk drying up) or until DS weans himself. I really don't care what anyone else thinks (I don't think my family would be very supportive) and I really don't want to give him baby cow milk when I can give him human milk instead. DS and both I really enjoy nursing and don't see any reason to give it up for a while.

Like others have said, I plan to BF till a year. I feel a huge connection and attachment to DD with BFing and I think it is going to be really hard for me to give it up. I will probably cry when I have to stop so I know I am going to keep BFing in the morning and at night for as long as DD wants to. I might even BF her at her afternoon feeding too if she wants to.
