Buttercream

Does anyone here have a buttercream recipe? It has to actually WORK (like blend/mix right) and it has to actually taste GOOD.

I know this would go better on the "Food" board but......<3 ya Bec!

Re: Buttercream

  • I have yet to find a perfect buttercream, but I've used this one a few times and it holds up well if you are doing some piping with it:

Can you use the buttercream recipe minus the brown sugar and cinnamon?

  • 2 sticks butter softened

    1 lb powdered sugar

    1-2 tbl milk

1-2 tsp vanilla (the more you use the less white your icing will be)

Mix it all together. Start with 1 tbl milk and then add more if it's too thick. Beat until it's creamy.

I use this recipe all the time and I've never had it fail me. It's butter and sugar....how could it taste bad?

Okay, three recommendations? I will do it!

Question: Do you not sift your powdered sugar?

I never have. I think the mixer takes care of all the lumps.
