Toddler bed mattress?

DS just moved to a toddler bed which still has his crib mattress in it, but his sister is moving to the crib and I want her to have that mattress because of the firmness, so I need to buy DS a mattress for the toddler bed.

He is only going to be in this bed 6 months or so, so I was hoping to not spend a fortune but want to be sure it's decent.  Can anyone recommend a mattress for a toddler bed or tips on what kind to look for?  TIA

DS (7 years old) from FET in 2010

    Honestly, we just went with one of the mid priced mattresses that didn't feel flimsy for the toddler bed.  I had a 20% coupon for BRU and didn't want to spend over $75.  We've been using it for over a year (often as a trampoline) and it has held up great.

    In all honesty, I'd just move him up the size in bed. Why buy a mattress for just a few months?

    We're not putting him in a twin bed yet because we're being given a nice furniture set for his room from a friend whose son won't be using it anymore, but not until this summer.  We also already have the toddler bed because it was given to us by another friend (people like to give us beds apparently lol).
