I am pregnant with twins, and although I will not even know if I can attempt a vaginal delivery yet until much later, (depends on the babies position. If baby A is head down they will let me try) I was interested in hearing anyone's experiences!
My friend gave birth to twins at 39 weeks. Labor under 4 hours total and each were nearly 9 lbs. she wanted drugs but they came so fast when they got to the hospital that her husband didn't even make it in the room while the first was delivered. She is a superstar... And a month later she was only 5 lbs off of her pre pg weight. This was her second pregnancy though.
I know several homebirth midwives who have taken twin moms one surprise triplet. Otherwise, you really beed to shop carefully ask a lot of questions. A provider trained in breech delivery will help. Most OBs don't get trained anymore on how to handle breech. Spinning Babies website has tips for twins.
Gabeandjess is a popular youtube vlogger who had a med free twin birth, the video kind of makes me cringe though. There are definitely some hard parts!
The woman I used to nanny for had her twins med-free. Both babies were head-down, the first was born 45 minutes after they arrived at the hospital, the second was born nine minutes later. I agree with pp you really have to do your research and try to find someone who is supportive. Congratulations on your double blessing!
I had my boys med free in the hospital. I went into labor on my own at 37 weeks and had them 12 hours later. They were 7 lb 4 oz and 7 lb 14 oz and 8 minutes apart. Most wonderful birthing experience I've had! Make sure to have a supportive person to deliver your babies and good luck!!
